Good idea. :good!:In this case they're not worried too much about punishing those involved. They are looking to punish the institution for a lack of control.
In that case, I see the ban on scholarships and bowl games fair. But, I do not see the TV ban as fair. There is no need to punish the other teams that play them during the TV ban. That is essentially taking money out of that programs pocket for USC punishment. I could see them punishing USC by not letting them take any profits from their televised games, though.
Bowden retired.Hat is going to want to ring my neck for this, but I would honestly like to see some collaboration between the NCAA and the NFL so caught cheaters in college can still be penalized even after they leave. I'm still okay with programs getting punishment, because accountability still stretches all the way to the top. The other thing to consider, and I don't think this has happened yet, but some sort of class-action law suit by program boosters/supporters/donors against guilty parties who cause retroactive ineligibility and vacated wins.
A good example, btw, of where this does come into effect was the race for all-time wins between JoePa and Bowden. Bowden will likely never catch up now.

So anyone who doesn't buy into the NCAA's holier than thou attitude towards players getting what they can while those same universities and the NCAA make money hand over fist off their backs are somehow traitors?
You must have a case of denial.
