The Golf Thread

I played twice. It was not good at all. I hit it well enough off the tee to keep it from being a complete disaster . . . but just barely.

I wanted to play a round today, but the course was packed when I got there. Everyone was out taking advantage of the nice weather before it cools off again, I suppose.

Did go and hit some balls on the range instead. Pretty pleased with how I hit the driver, but not so much with the irons. Never have been any good with those, anyway.

I caught the second episode of the Haney Project last night. Funny and interesting.

Never seen the sound gizmo they were using, but it made me laugh. An interesting invention to say the least.

But, Charles does have an amazing attitude about the whole thing and I actually appreciated him not wanting to say how the whole thing will end up. I think he is confident he will get better, but he is also realistic.

played this morning. hit my irons better than i've ever hit before. my score still sucks-of course, but i'm pretty pleased with the improvement i've made.

ugh. Nightmare. However, I did limit myself to 30 putts on freshly aerated greens. How? I have no clue.

The biggest problem I've had with my 905T is coming all the way through the ball. Well, let's just say I didn't have that problem today. Fortunately, the course was fairly open, so more than anything, it was just a pleasant experience being on the left side of holes.

My biggest problem today was simply committing to my iron shots. If I did, it was smooth sailing, but a handful of times, I started second guessing about about 3/4 in my backswing and all he** broke loose.

So Tiger is T27 or worse and Sergio wins, Sergio is #1... laughable.
Honestly, I thought it was laughable that a guy could go eight months without even playing a single round and still retain the #1 ranking. Of course, I won't even pretend to know how the world golf rankings work, but still...

It was kind of like when Tiger was slumping (for him, mind you) back in 2004 and 2005 while Vijay was on fire. Seemed like it took Vijay forever to surpass Tiger in the rankings.

But, as they said on PTI yesterday, would Sergio taking over the top spot really make anyone think he was the best golfer in the world?
