The Golf Thread

playing later this morning with the boss. And the boss is good, so I definitely won't be "letting him win".

Where do you play in Clarksville?

Clarksville CC is actually a pretty nice tract. Their pro is the best in this area (and the guy I see when seeking enlightenment.)

I haven't played it, my brother in law and sister belong though, usually I'm driving between Nashville, Clarksville, and Knoxville, and I try and play Centennial when I'm in Knoxville.
Since were visting so much family and driving during the week of vacation I usually on get one round anyway..

Next time I'm in Clarksville we should try and play

Sure, PM me. If you are looking for a good golfer, though, I'd better bring the Mrs :p

Didn't play all that well but fired an 86 so it could have and probably should have been lots and lots worse, I was just able to avoid the big numbers. I'll blame it on lack of playing much lately, but I just never would commit to my iron shots until towards the end. Finished with a nice birdie though on one of the courses more difficult holes.

Putted very well and was bombing my driver. Irons and chipping, not many good things to talk about.

we'll be fine, I can hack it around with the best of them
I'll will PM you on the next trip...
Probably in the fall

:good!:

I haven't made it out yet this year, but if the weather stays as nice as it was today, I'm going to be forced to go dig up some turf.

If only this work thing didn't keep getting in the way...

I've still gotta get that governor pulled all the way out. The new cart is a big improvement over the old in every way except one--that 20 year old Club Car was the fastest buggy in Western Kentucky.

More Faster = More Happier

6 birdies, 5 bogeys yesterday :yuck:

I've managed to walk 36 holes in 4 hours and 20 minutes the last 2 days. Too bad it's supposed to rain for a week, now.

They should shut down the PGA tour during March Madness. I completely forgot about Bay Hill today until I saw highlights on Sports Center.

River Islands.

easily one of the best values for your money.

I love River Islands - one of the best and most unique designs in East TN, and certainly a stern test, even from the whites - but last time I played there (about 2 years ago), the conditioning has gone considerably downhill from what I remember, especially the greens. Anyone played there recently?

The guy is the ultimate grinder, though. He turned a 73/74 yesterday into a 68. Didn't see any of his round today. Driver still wayward?

And, it's hard to expect him to come out and be the same guy. My expectations for the whole year are way down.

I'm not sure what people expect out of the guy. He's coming back from an 8 month layoff and he's in 5th place going into the weekend . . . and he's missed half the greens through 2 rounds.

it's gotten to the point that people expect him to win every week
saw his interview after the first round

question: What are your expectations for the year
Tiger: to win every tournament, I play

as he keeps saying it, people want to believe it
