The Golf Thread

Were you playing my father?

I don't think so. He seems to only be able to spawn girls; he's got a passel of them. If you are ever looking for somebody to coach 5 year old powder-puff soccer, he's got the resume.

how did he handle being laughed at

He quit at the turn.

In truth, that had more to do with the all-overs than the laughter. We go way back, so he's used to the laughter.

Got in 9 yesterday; I generally hit it all over the place, but carded a 41 thanks to what was, by my standards, unbelievable putting and wedge play. I haven't kept regular stats, but 13 putts (and 6 one putts) had to be a personal best for a side. I now love my new putter. For my last 18, I have putted 28 times, which I'm guessing is also a record. I just wish I could hit a green during a round where I'm putting well.

Golf is a weird game.

not a troll here, but I really like your alls golf thread...great stuff here

live in east tennessee but my club is about to go bankrupt.

that kid is indded a dbag...I think one of the brothers will win...as far as they hit it, it would wear you down in a match play format

a little about me...I play at Ridgefields CC here in Kingsport, but like I said earlier we are about to file bunkruptcy (poor economy, poor money management years ago, too few members). I play all over East TN...is anyone on here a member or has played Holston Hills lately? Thinking about doing an out of town membership there and coming to K'ville once or twice a month...haven't played it in years!

If you guys are over up my way, look up Graysburg Hills in Chuckey TN...great course (27 holes)about on the level as river islands (which is awesome!)

Looks like i'm putting the clubs up for the year, it's been raining too much here in west tenn and I think it's about to get cold. I didn't even get to use the new Odyssey putter

played this PM in shorts...great weather...wish I played better...shot a 77 with three penalty strokes...each of which hitting my one hybrid off the tee! Have a feeling that this could be the last nice weather round for a while. Heading out to Kville tomorrow for the games...hope the vols don't kill us too bad

it's going to be worse than you expect.

but Chicago is so great in the summer, it makes up for it.

I've lived in Madison twice, just didn't play as much golf then

So I pretty much knew what I was gettig into, moving back North...

Once i'm out of grad school, I am hellbent on moving to a warm part of the country for that reason exactly

I miss a few things about Phoenix but that may be the top one. Plus, if you don't mind the heat, you can play some great courses in June/July/August for cheap.
