The Golf Thread

Met up with a couple of friends and got 9 in yesterday. A few loose swings and an odd money game, but for the first round of the season, it wasn't too bad. Other than my cart being dead from an off-season in the shed, I don't have any complaints.

I might even still like this game.

It's still love/hate for me. I love it when I shoot 39 and I hate this game more than anything when I'm flirting with 50

I got in my first full round of the year yesterday and shot a 91. It wasn't too bad, considering I seem to have run out of gas, playing 17 & 18 at 5 over. I hit it pretty well, and putting came along as the round progressed, but an off-season of rust on anything between a chip and a full swing really showed.

I did finally get a chance to test drive my new driver, but honestly, I can't make much of a case for taking my old Launcher out of the bag. It looks like the brand new Bridgestone is headed for the consignment rack in the pro shop.

What kind of "odd" money game? 9 points? Wolf?

We had people joining and leaving, so there were holes of skins, then wolf, then skins with different people, plus a guy in the skins game that shouldn't have been and was therefore let off the hook. It took an abacus and a slide rule to add up the points at the end.

I hate it when guys come and go from a 18 hole game. If you can't do the whole 18 or at least 9, don't get in the game. More often than not, groups and numbers in groups get adjusted inappropriately

It was fine, just complicated. A friend of mine was in from Mississppi, so we were really just banging it around and put a few dollars on the line for giggles.

I'm taking the wife out this afternoon so that she can beat my brains in for the first time as a mother.

Sometimes when you lose, you really win, though.

just saw a promo for the Big Break: Sandals Resorts and I just may have to tune in

I saw that the other day. Looks like a pretty good selection of participants this year. :) I usually watch every season but may miss a few episodes, but I'll definitely be watching this one.

Can't believe it took me so long to find this thread. I try to play 3-4 times a week, but I still have this LOFT issue. The teaching pro at my club told me the best way to solve it would be to buy a bowling ball. Ouch!

Missed a 15 footer to tie the Mrs yesterday in a weather-shortened 6 hole match. We actually played 13, 14, and 15, which are right behind her parents' home, twice each, reminding me why I am a member of a private club.

Company scramble this weekend, which would be a lot of fun if it weren't actually work in disguise.

Played in a two-day tournament this weekend. Shot 67 on the first day to put myself in the final group today. Found it necessary to put myself out of contention early with a bogey, double-bogey en route to a nice little 76.

Love this game.

well hope to see Fowler paired with Sergio or Poulter
after seeing the outfit he sported today
would have liked to see him hold on to win, but the water ball and ultimate double bogey on 12 did him in

The hideous crap he sports makes Jesper look normal.
