The Golf Thread

i'm in the market for a new to me set of irons. if anyone has any they are thinking of trading or selling, pm me. taylormade burners or r7, r9's are what i am looking at.

played the Raven at Sandestin, shot a 39 on the back, but can't talk about the front...
the driver is the bain of my existance
and it's definetky the indian and not the arrow..

I've got a Ping G10 in the bag right now, and have gone through the
983K
905R- my favorite, when I get back, I'll probably put it back in the bag
G5
Burner
G10

It's extremely frustarating...

My father in law rode with me and even he said just hit your 3 wood

My younger brother had the hardest time learning to hit a driver and he went and got stack & tilt lessons just for his driver and now its his strongest shot he's got. He doesn't move it at all but about 270 right down the middle every time.

A lot of people swear by the Stack and Tilt. Personally, I think it's a shaky swing theory, but whatever works . . .

It's definitely got its weaknesses, like moving the ball, distance lost, etc., but for a golfer that may play 3 or 4 times a year I think its a pretty solid technique because its easy to learn, remember, and repeat.
I heard of guys who's game got completely lost who learned it in a day and enjoyed golf again.
It's not for me but if it works for someone else good for them.

No doubt. Rarity Bay and Rarity Pointe can be booked and played (via GolfNow) for $25-$30, at times. Both courses are well worth that.

played the Pointe on Saturday at 2pm for 27.50. we didn't play up on anybody until the 13th or 14th hole.

well worth it.

I enjoy River Islands but I may be done with that course. New ownership is charging @ $60 on weekends. Yea right! Not for a course that's in the middle of nowhere.
Willow Creek is too convenient for that $$$. I'll probably try the Rarity courses, never played a single one.

I'm actually excited about the new ownership at River Islands. It's a great layout. If it were in better shape that course could be a gem. I heard the new owner brought in the superintendent from his club in New England
