The Golf Thread

Yes. 4 days of wall to wall basketball played by generally winning teams. Good as it gets.

Okay, different strokes for different folks I guess, for me March Madness takes a back seat to The Masters by a wide margin and 1 TN vs AL football game is worth a dozen Final Fours but I'm a certified hacker and pigskinner, you must be a roundballer.

Watching this Tavistock silliness. Tiger is putting the hell out of this new heel shafted job he's playing today. He keeps that up, the pressure will come off the rest of his game and he'll roar back. Not good for the rest of the crowd.

Speaking of Tavistock silliness, did you happen to be watching when somebody floated an air biscuit (Darren Clarke?) as Graeme McDowell was addressing his teeball on 12? Watching Tiger and Stevie trying to contain themselves til after McDowell hit the ball had me cracking up. Nothing like a well timed fart on the golf course.

I saw it. Nobilo's quick thinking "crowd noises" was funny as hell. I think that was a Feherty joke that has been pulled before.

Nobilo trying to play it off on a headcover being pulled off an oversized driver was a good one.

Then Darren asking which was the wind was blowing was pretty good too.

New faces out here for me today. Lookin them up, De Jonge is from Zimbabwe. And Scott Stallings went to Tenn Tech.

Played in my club's Sunday game yesterday. Shot 3 under and it was by far the best ball striking day I've had in probably a year or more.

Pretty strong round this time of year, especially if you're a little rusty

I hit balls year round. But it's hard to score this time of year for me simply because I struggle with the flat stick early. Still didn't putt that great yesterday but made a few 15 footers, which always helps.

I shot 3 under. . . 4 years ago. Alas, par golf has become a distant memory since I've had kids. now it's pretty much get into the mid 70s and just be happy it was quiet for 4 hours.

I walked out with the neighbor, and we played 3 holes. six, seven then cut back over to five and finshed up at the houses..

He was killing the ball but he also just got back from a week at Pinehurst..Me i was spraying it all over the place..
I start a regular 4 some on April 10th, so it's time to hit the range,a nd I'll play a few rounds next week in Destin, while on vacation.

I've had to cut back considerably since my daughter was born.

I had a 73 (+2) on Friday. Ball striking still isn't near the level it needs to be. I just began hitting balls a few weeks ago and only do it once a week until April. I usually take 3-4 months completely off. If it weren't for my flat stick, that 73 could have been 80. The greens were running about 12.5

Story of my life. Now my wife sees a round of golf for me as an opportunity for her to have some time off and the kids go with me.

right....
we're getting ready to leave on vacation tomorrow, so we're talking this morning and she pipes in that she packed clothes for my son to golf with me on this trip..

that's her passive aggresive way of saying no more leaving me with 2 kids, for 4-5 hours over 4-5 days of vacation...

Same for me. I still remember the day I beat my Dad for the first time. If still drives him crazy that I'm on a 25 year winning streak.

Same here, the first time I beat my Dad he accidently shut my fingers in the trunk when we were putting the clubs in the car, broke one and cut two others pretty bad, I remember jumping up and down with my hand caught in the trunk while he's trying to open it again. My uncle who was playing with us that day still goes on about that, claims Dad did it on purpose because I bested him by 2 strokes, we still laugh about it to this day, damn if it didn't hurt then though.
