Not sure if they were talking about Stricker or not, but they were talking about somebody considering the JD Classic as the 5th major. And I enjoy playing TPC at Deadhorse.

Has anyone heard bad reviews on Callaway Diablo Edge irons? I didn't get to hit them today, but just wanted any possible reviews you might have.

If you want Callaway's don't get the Diablo's, get the razr tours or the razr forged

Look goofy as all get out. Without looking I'd say they are for maximum game improvement.

They are good irons, I personally didn't like the feel. The Razr's are just better.

So it's a feel issue for you...might be different for me. I really just don't want to walk into Edwin Watts with no idea and hit 30 different sets. I like the feel of my X-12s...I'm contemplating just getting them re-shafted and fitted. I don't know that I can part with them

Just saw that Callaway made X-24s...might give them a try.

I think the Players is a better event than the British Open..

I tend to agree depending on where the British is being played. There's just too much chance involved at some of the British Open venues.

If it makes players hit shots than I'm fine with it. Some of those tracks are goofy golf, though.

Exactly . . . I'm fine with links golf and making them hit a variety of shots, but I hate it when the course looks like a hardpan municipal course and they talk about how wonderful it is due to history.

I love links golf! Most don't get it unless they play it. It's the only golf where bunkers are still a penalty most of the time, unlike PGA setups where bunkers can be preferred targets.

Stricker got a horrible lie in a bunker and he lipped it and rolled it back in the bunker. The commentators said that that shot is "holeable". A bunker shot should never be "holeable".

You're never going to get bunkers consistently that severe. Sandy lies are generally predictable even if they are buried. Still, the best sand players in the world are typically only around 60%.

The reason Stricker's shot was "holeable" was that it was a back pin placement. That and announcers also get caught up in the moment.

Some pin placements are not "holeable."

Are greens supposed to be penalties too?

Not understanding that logic. I'm a Donald Ross fan as far as greens go. You should always have a chance on the green. I'm not a fan of kidney shaped greens. Or uphill par 3s. Both are stupid.
