The Golf Thread

Nobody said that. It just sounds stupid when the first thing out of somebody's mouth is thanking god after winning a golf tournament & about a million bux. Sports in general has made a mockery of it. Yesterday wasn't the first time.

You know nothing about the man, yet say he made a mockery out of religion and God. To boot, you want to control what he says and limit it to sponsorship mentions. He can thank titleist for a ball with spin, but can't than God for keeping him calm. Incredible thought process. My 8 yr old has more sense.

How can you compare thanking a sponsor to thanking god? That makes no sense & I hope your 8 year old knows that.

It's not making a mockery. If he wants to thank God, Buddha, Nebuchadnezzar, Allah or Maxfli, then that's his prerogative.

True, it's not about what his religion is though it just seems a little out of place. It's a mockery because every thug & their grandma does it.

is webb simpson a thug?

Of course not. Religion is a personal thing & has it's place though. He has a right to say what he wants & one might think you would thank god for something more important than helping win a golf tournament if that's what you wanna call it.

Faith, thankfulness and such matters are all relative to each individual.

What are yalls thoughts: ProV1 vs. ProV1x
The X is a little longer and there might be a little difference in the spin rate, but honestly it will be hard for you to tell the difference unless you have a pretty refined short game.

I've been playing the Taylor Made Penta the past month or so and have been a little shocked at how similarly it performs compared to the ProV1 for a lot less money.

I think I'm going to buy both and play them side by side when I go out next

Isn't the difference only $5 or so a dozen?

I use penta now as well.
Cheaper and I hit my irons further.

The only ProV I use is the ones I find on the course, the srixon soft feel is a good ball for the money.

They put the pairings out for my qualifier. Chris Sabo is playing right behind me. I wonder if he'll be sporting the RecSpecs

It used to be, but lately I've been finding them for about $10-15 less. I stopped by a golf outlet in Hilton Head 2 weeks ago and they were selling them for $24.95. I asked the guy behind the counter what the heck was up and he said they were just playing around with the price point, but at $24.95 he could barely keep them on the shelf.

That is a good deal. You pay that much for a decent mid range ball.
