I have not been posting much in the golf thread in awhile, I have not been able to play in months due to back pain. I finally broke down and went for the MRI which gave me the news that I feared but expected, L5 disc is badly ruptured and L4 is slightly ruptured, also told I have degenerative disc disease. Started a series of spinal epiderals today for the pain, surgery coming soon. My neurosurgeon and doctor both advised me to give up the game entirely and I may do that but I am not going to make that decision just yet, gonna have to give it up for at least a year or 2 maybe more but maybe later on I can at least get out there and hack at it a little bit. I'll probably never be very competetive on the course again, but I'd at least like to be in on the friendships and cold beers that always seem at their best on the course. It's damn frustrating and depressing, been playing for over 30 years and now not only can I not play golf but my quality of life in general with this back pain just plain sucks.
Well enough whinning about it, I hope all you VN duffers out there keep hitting em long and straight and above all have fun no matter how you are hitting it. Drink a cold one for me.
