The Golf Thread

You sound like a horrible loser. Your friends will probably be happy they don't have to play with you. Everybody wins.

I think it's funny you still have a problem with me from message board bs from years ago and post at me with an attitude.
I play in a group of 14 guys and have for several years. We have a league, travel together and our families hang together. They video'd it and were laughing their asses off. You probably have trouble getting a 4some together. I don't.
If you can't find a group to play with, what does that say about you?

Did they asses you a penalty stroke?

doesn't matter now. Taking a hiatus. Didn't leave myself an option today as I dumped my bag and sticks in the lake on 17 at Greystone.
I do believe I may be burned out. If a game is making me this frustrated, it's not worth it, and if I have no sticks, I can't go out and get more frustrated.

Sparty, when did you quit playing golf for fun? Seriously. Sounds to me like you might be over thinking everything. Get a new bag, new sticks and go back out and play for the fun of it. Don't worry about the final score. I mean this with nothing but good intent.

Man, I'm just burnt out a little. And playing/recovery is a task. I played a week after my knee surgery and shouldn't have. I'm going to rest in August, build my quad and base strength up a little and I''ll come back and probably play well. We play twice a week year round and if the course is open, we play to about 35 degrees if it's sunny.
I play with other guys in more laid back games, but our group is just a bunch of competitive guys, with records kept, $ prizes, etc. I still had fun and they were trying to tell me what sticks to go get. The frustration stems from me not knowing where tf the ball is going anymore, not from losing. I went 4-3, but was a 7 handicap in December and am now a 12, and am getting a ton of strokes from a few players. That's a horrific jump for a golfer.

Keep it fun when you get back into it. Any idea what clubs you'll get?

Of course they laughed. On second thought, watching somebody make a fool of themself on the golf course can be pretty funny. Maybe they will miss you.

As for me, I'm got my normal group set for 11 tomorrow. And I'll probably make it home with all my clubs too.

No idea. May need to look at going away from stiff steel shafts on my irons. Probably get a ping, Cleveland or Callaway Driver. If I pick up a club and it feels good, I don't really care what brand. Titleist and Taylor Made just feel different so I don't hit them.
I'm in no rush.

Good deal. Sounds like you got it going on. I sacrificed mine to the golf gods.

I played Pings until two years ago and then bought Callaways. I've always had a slice and bought a Callaway draw drive a couple of years ago that took care of it for me.

He's got a history dating back to stealing ammo from a Walmart when he was 17.

All things considered, I'm pretty impressed with him actually. 5th on the Ryder Cup, ranked in the top 20, two top 15 major finishes. I mean I can't really say it's been hurting him.

That's gotta hurt not being able to play on the Ryder team. I like watching DJ play.

why would you throw the clubs in the lake
That's about 1200-1500 bucks to replace

He's been walking around with one for me for awhile. I don't recall responding to one of his posts, during that time, but he's had a crush on me for years.

All I'm getting at is you bait others into it with your responses. We've even been down that road. Don't take it personal, but it probably has some connection with you having obvious anger management issues. What grown man dumps his whole bag into the lake because they are shooting in tthe mid eighties? Just take a step back and figure out what battles you really want to fight. Took me a long time to figure that out and I'm still a work in progress.
