The Golf Thread

If you can't remember Yang going toe to toe with Tiger, DJ at Whistling Straits and the ensuing playoff, Rory's Sunday 66 in '12, Lefty tapping the Nicklaus plaque at Baltusrol and then hitting that flop shot to win, Tiger in '00 or the DLIII moment after his win honoring his dad through the rainbow, I don't really know how to call yourself a fan. Tiger pointing his ball into the hole is shown with every Tiger montage ever created.
Here is the thing though, I could/can remember those but there isn't a chance I could've told you that they were from the PGA.

The Masters is memorable because it's one course, Augusta.

The Open is memorable because it's the only one over seas.

The US Open is memorable because it's our national championship.

The PGA just isn't all that memorable.

But you may be right, watching weekly may not make me enough of a golf fan.

Haha, guess we all can't be as good of a fan as you are.

I knew you were going to come up with something stupid and you didn't disappoint. Fact is, if you don't remember the moments I listed and you have to be reminded that the PGA Championship is a major, then you're a casual fan. Sorry not sorry.

I'm a fan of golf, so location is a small factor, but put golfers on world class courses with a major trophy on the line and I'm good.

Umm, okay.

My goodness you take your self seriously.

Well, apparently one person is arguing with anyone that dares respond to him.

Lol I haven't said anything argumentative. You're contribution was asking me how old I was ands I responded lightheartedly. Maybe we need to revisit who takes themselves too seriously.

Apparently I'm a juvenile and I take myself too seriously because I called NochNoch a casual fan since he has to be,reminded that the PGA Championship is a major

And I responded with a joking response about you being a "real" fan. From there I was called stupid for having a differing opinion about a golf tournament. Hence the taking things too seriously angle.

We're on a message board talking about freaking golf, the day I get "butthurt" over that is the day I'll stop coming round these parts.

Naah, I'm good, thanks.

Real disappointed we didn't go grab a beer to watch a UT bball game sometime now though.

Ok guy. Whatever gives you good feelings about yourself. If NochNoch wants to pretend he wasn't butthurt, go for whatever y'all want to believe. I really don't care.

The guy that is oozing with "butthurt" is accusing someone else of being "butthurt". Classic.

Oh and stop lying, you most certainly do care.

Football season is right around the corner. I've got season tickets for ODU, but anytime you're free when odu is on the road, let me know.

Btw, calling a comment stupid is nowhere near the same thing as calling you stupid.

Just picked up the game. Played the par 3 course at williams creek a couple of times after many trips to the driving range to make sure my shots wouldn't shank every time. Most holes I was able to get to the green the first or second shot (then 3 put for a bogie :banghead2:).

Anyway I think I'm wanting to step up to a full course. So my question is what is a good course for a beginner in either the Knoxville or Cookeville area? I would prefer to go through as a single as I don't want to hold up a more experienced group if I could avoid it. But I also wouldn't mind meeting up with someone who would be patient with a beginner.
