I can hit a 2 iron better than a 3 for some reason.
that's amazing. might be a shaft / club / frequency combo that fits you better than the 3. Should be easier to hit the higher lofted club with shorter shaft. Might also be pure confidence.

Hell, if I keep up with all the worthless hypotheticals, we'll talk for two hours and still be in the same place, so I'm just gonna stop here.

I hit my three and four irons better than my five and I know it's confidence. I know that I have to do everything right when I set up with the 3 and 4 and I focus more. Just too stupid I guess to apply that idea to all my other clubs.

I set up a little differently for my 3 and 4 than my 5...maybe you should try to hit your 5 more like a 6 than a 4....of course, at this point it's 99% a mental exercise.

Is there any better hole than the 16th in Phoenix? Phil is loved there and he just got booed for a bad shot. Lots of fun to watch live.

Also just set a record for largest attendance ever in golf.

anybody watch #16 at the FBR Open. these guys cheered mickelson wildly when he walked to the tee. missed the green and they booed him. left his chip short of the green and they booed harshly. great stuff.

drunk and hot if I recall. I'm definitely back out there next year.

was there when Holmes won his first.

by the way, Holmes can flat stomp it.

ernie might be struggling mentally, but he still has one of the prettiest swings in golf and the best rhythm.

tiger didn't hit great shots but absurd putting. mediocre chips, 12 footer, then tough lie, a whiffed chip and 40 foot bomb on 18.

best putter ever.

i'm sure it sounded like we were under attack in East Tennessee today, but rest assured it was just me and my driver at the range for the first time this year.

now if i can only get everything else in my bag to follow suit.

Broke out the sticks for the first time in 08' yesterday. Started my round with a double, a bogey, a triple, a par, and then a birdie. I was going for the cycle on the next hole which is a normally reachable par 5(and believe me I gave it my all to do so), but the 20mph wind ate up my 5 wood and kept it 20 yards short. On the bright side I did stick a wedge 3in from the cup on a 155yd par 3. It was brutal out there though with the wind and temps being fairly low. I think I'm putting the sticks back up until Mother Nature can provide some consistent warm temps.

I hit balls Sat Morning. It was about 45 deg with about 30 knot wind. I hit a couple of 3 woods on the button that didn't go 200 yds. Putted for about 5 minutes, but decided to depart when every putt I stood over saw the ball moving all over and the wind moving putts. Probably not very helpful to practice putting upwind and down and adjusting for the impact of the wind on the ball.

In all, a wasted hour, but it was golf so it beat any other option on earth.
