Purses dont matter `on LIV tour because players are guaranteed money. Doesn’t matter whether you win or not.
This is inaccurate. The purses were in addition to the guaranteed signing bonuses. Dustin Johnson confirmed this in an interview. The purses awarded $4 million to the individual winner and the winning team split $3million. If you won both in the same week you walked away with $4,750,000. That's a lot more than any PGA event so the purses definitely mattered.
The team concept and party atmosphere for LIV are what made it interesting. It did a lot better Internationally because it filled a void. The PGA elevated and Major events are great and always will be. Now they will fill in the lesser events(John Deere, Zurich etc) with LIV team events(May be renamed?) and players will be able to play in both if they choose. It's like a tour within a tour. The purses for the PGA events will grow as well to at least match the LIV purses so the players are about to make a lot more money from tournament winnings. In the end it will mean better tournaments with stronger fields for more of the year and a lot more international exposure.

That's insane. If that's just regular people playing on a Saturday morning, there'd be lost balls on every hole on approach shots that end up 5 feet off the green.

Don’t worry growing the game is taking place on a course 99.999999999999999999% of the populace would never be able to play.

🤭 The US Open is supposed to be, and generally regarded as the toughest test for the best players in the world. No, most golfers will never see inside the perimeter of Los Angeles Country Club. That's ok too, because it isn't any deterrent to the growth of the game. You can though, as an everyday, nobody golfer, go play Pebble Beach, Bethpage Black and Torrey Pines, etc., as those are ALL open to the public and have hosted US Opens

Fun, fun here. Those public US Open venues are much harder on every day players too. They will eat your lunch

It is suppose to be the toughest test but the USGA has went full r***** more than once. Hopefully they don’t ruin it this time.

The greens in Southern California are generally thicker with a combo of Poa and Bent. Totally different climate for greens than in the Eastern US. They can roll the heck out of them and not worry
