So you do think Gruden will say yes?
And who would Hart have above Strong on his list, iyo?
I was told they're prepared to Make Gru the highest payed college coach.
If he wants to coach why would he say no.
I still hear the Horny Toad is #2 on the list. Nobody else does though. What is clear is Hart doesn't want Strong.

I like Strong as a possible #2 or #3 option, but after looking at Louisville's schedule, I am a bit concerned that the level of competition in the Big East is way down, compared to the SEC. I know it's somewhat relative, because Louisville is not an SEC caliber team, but barely getting by teams that have only one or two wins, is not a lot to hang our hopes on. L'ville should be spanking those teams.
Conversely, you have prospects like Patterson and Tressel, who have a long-standing track record of success, and against tough opponents. I like Strong more for his recruiting prowess and defensive mind, but I think the jury may still be out as far as his HC credentials is concerned.
And there's Charlie Strong. The hottest coach in the country. At Louisville.
It should be scary, but Louisville athletics director Tom Jurich doesn't look scared. He doesn't sound scared, either. This I know, because I asked him. I found Jurich before the game and asked him why Strong wouldn't leave Louisville after this season.
"One," Jurich said, "he has a great contract."
True enough. I'd heard Strong is one of the 10 highest-paid coaches in the country. I asked Jurich if that was true.
"It is," Jurich said. "And we'll make him No. 1 if we have to."
This is where I did something I never do. I asked Jurich to repeat what he just said, knowing full well he could change his answer. But the answer I heard -- We'll make him No. 1 if we have to -- didn't make sense. So, um, what did you say, Tom?
"I said we'll make him [number] one if we have to."
The big thing about Strong is just how well he has managed to recruit to Louisville...who was just as deep in the doldrums as we have been, or worse. They could go 11-1 or 12-0. That's saying something. I liked Strong as a possible candidate the first time around. Even more sold on him after this season.
I think Gruden would be the Grand Slam (especially if he could convince his brother Jay to join him as OC and assistant HC), as it would instantly put the program back in the spotlight, nationally. Strong would be Homerun with one RBI, hire, IMO.
