The Impeachment Thread

Barack Obama's Real Clear Politics Average Approval Ratings were tied to the economy, and more specifically, the unemployment rate. Like with most presidents, as the unemployment rate went down, Obama's approval ratings went up. Trump's numbers don't seem to be tethered to anything but his own behavior that particular week, and the current political climate. They do go up (slightly) whenever he is under intense fire from Democrats, or when he has kept a low profile for a week or two (hasn't happened much).

With this sentence, you just acknowledged that your previous post that the Democrats "didn't pursue Bolton" wasn't true. It is hard to take you seriously because you say things which you know to be false. You speak with an emotional attachment, and are unconcerned with ascertaining facts. It's all about your side "winning"... like it's an athletic event where a score is kept.
They didn't pursue Bolton, they requested and was told no and they said ok. If they wanted Bolton they should have took it to court, they passed so F them, they don't get to pass on their jobs then try to tell the Senate how to operate

Oh, you want to accuse me of deflection but you're talking about Russia and you think I should stay on topic. You're beyond ignorant.
You're the one who responded to me 😂. You're not very good at this, I can understand your frustration😄😄

This meets the very definition of doublespeak.

Barack Obama had a capacity crowd of 84,000 people at Invesco Field in Denver (now known as Empower Field) for his acceptance speech for the Democratic Party nomination in 2008. That picture and those like them only prove that Trump is popular with his base... but nobody is denying that.
But Obama was the "Great White Hope" or whatever. The Messiah, the Savior, the First Post Racial President. .

All time high! Only a majority of the country disapproves!

The fact that the “ majority “, according to the polls , disapproves , should not surprise anyone . The fact that a his numbers increase in anyway during an impeachment , and the stock market is unaffected by it , should worry the left . It’s a clear indication that the gamble did not pay off . ( IMO )

It's not a surprise. Bill Clinton's approval numbers went way up during his impeachment, by 6 or 7 points. It rallies the base. Members of the base who are only lukewarm in their support, now give full support and respond more enthusiastically to polls. However, we are in an increasingly short news cycle. I expect his numbers to go back down once the trial is over... and once Trump does something really stupid again. This thing with Bolton could be a game changer as well. It's the first sign that this may not just be a purely partisan exercise. You can attack Bolton's credibility if you want, but he is definitely not a liberal Democrat. He aggressively attacked everything Obama did on Fox News for 8 years. That was basically the reason that Trump chose him as National Security Adviser in the first place.

Trump isn’t like any of the rest , this we all agree on . He base does not shrink at all . That’s why it’s always a problem if he’s approval ratings increase . Especially if you have , we will be kind and say weak candidates, running against him .

None of this matters at this point. The story is out. The Senate is not going convict and never were. It only matters what the middle, fence setters and independents do in in November. Some of them will be persuaded that the president abused his office for personal gain and some will believe this was an ill advised political tactic by the left. We're still in the throes of a political divide with no end in sight.

That is not true at all. Did the Democrats have to take Ambassador Bill Taylor to court in order to compel him to comply with his subpoena? How about former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch or Kurt Volker or what about Bolton's top aid, Fiona Hill? That is absolutely ridiculous. Good lord.
Did any of them provide first hand knowledge?

Name one “major”player in any scandal that was not compelled to testify .Any administration.

You are moving the goal posts now... but yes, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman was on the July 25th phone call and he did provide some first hand knowledge of that call.
