The Impeachment Thread

The Republicans need to fight fire with fire, and put out all the false allegations that sound halfway feasible. I couldn't blame them for making up sh!t now, because that is what the other side does.
Absolutely. Lie, cheat, steal who cares. Play the same game. I hope the next socialist president we have gets treated like trash by the Rs, try to impeach every other month. Lie and gets conservative news outlets to lie non stop with them.

It's never OK to be as immoral as the other side because they're immoral. What our country needs is for someone to step up and lead by example. Give the country something worth following.

But... I suspect Trump and the crew won't have to make up allegations. I really do.

I asked earlier and no one responded, but this is a good context to ask again.

"For those that think Trump will be impeached, what clearance level do you think he has?"

Serious question. Don't you realize that he has clearance to see everything the previous administrations did? Don't you think he's had everything he's needed to see documentation of criminal bull**** done by the corrupt administrations that have come before him, and used the documentation to dig deeper into everything he has clearance to see?

You don't think he has enough in store to bury both parties? Even if he weren't the savior of the republic that patriotic-Q has painted him to be, you don't think that--just out of self preservation--he doesn't have an arsenal full of double-barrel ****-slingers loaded and sitting by the door?

This entire Never-Trump coup has been anything but a moral Republic protecting itself form Trump. It's rotten dystopia protecting itself from an outsider that never should have gotten access to all their dirty little secrets. The sooner everyone stops pulling for their team and realizes that, the sooner we can figure out what to do about the **** show that calls itself a republic.

For Trump?
What kind of fool believes an acknowledged habitual liar?
What kind of fool equivocated between personal incredulity and refutation and then doubles down on the foolishness with the above question?

ANd what kind of fool would buy into the fake outrage about "habitual liars" from the person that professes the Machiavellian ethics that lying is OK if you have the right reason for doing so?

Peddle your poop to those who haven't figured out critical thinking 101.

Why didn't Nixon? Why didn't Clinton? Are you saying corruption only started post Clinton?

I'm missing the point you are evidently trying to make.
Quit undercutting yourself to try and appear rational. You say one thing, ("believe" and "not convinced" are not the same thing), and then say another (OK, I hope and believe).
Remind you of someone?

Now back to the unanswered:

*too

Other than the result was to your dismay, what, in your mind, was "illegitimate" about his election?

You are right he does have access. What might shock you, and the Q folks, is that he has nothing that damaging. Nothing that would put anyone in prison.

Point 1 includes as assumption that Zelensky is only saying there’s no pressure because Trump is in office. In point 4 your own words say that Trumps words are an indication of his intention.
Point 5 assumes that, if even true, there is a correlation between the whistleblower report and money being released. Good luck proving that one.

I’m glad you conceded points 2 and 3 but you missed conceding 1, 4, and 5. And this is exactly why this isn’t going anywhere unless some real proof is uncovered. The entire “case” is conjecture. Like Zep said, this is all just a show to sway the American public. The Dems know that no evidence exists today but they don’t need that. They just need to plants seeds of doubt that it could exist and that’s the exact same playbook they used against Kavanaugh and during the Mueller investigation.
The arrests of two Giuliani associates for campaign finance violations today more than slightly undermines your argument. Giuliani has previously said that both of the men arrested, worked with him as part of his dealings in Ukraine that involved efforts to encourage the nation to investigate the Bidens. One of the men, Lev Parnas, told the Miami Herald last week that he had passed information on the Bidens to Giuliani. The two men were trying to flee the country at the time of their arrest.

I'm not saying that corruption started after Clinton. I'm saying it's been an old boy system since before Kennedy, run by the three-letter agencies who threaten or take out anyone who looks like they won't go by the script.

It's going to be fun to see how it plays out and see who's right--if it plays out in public and any of the people (who are supposed to have transparent insight into what our overlords public servants have been up to) get to see what's actually gone down.

One wonders how they knew they needed to high tail it out of here.

The call is 30 minutes and the transcript is 5 pages, there’s a disclaimer saying it’s not verbatim.

What are the chances that court records typed manually by a court stenographer are 100% accurate? Is that ever an issue? It seems presidents have learned the hard way about tape recordings. How would you feel about sitting in your office with a recorder running 24/7? I have a feeling that if you felt absolutely every word you uttered would be subject to scrutiny, you like the rest of us under those conditions would never get anything done in this hyper PC and hyper politically partisan world. How about new terms like executive and electronic gridlock and constipation?

Here's an interesting quote from a book I'm reading:

However, Roosevelt wasn’t one to be daunted by such tricky nuances. When the president got it in his mind that something was a good idea, he simply made it happen—regardless of whether he played by the book. When he wanted to essentially give arms to the British, he crafted Lend-Lease and nudged Congress to make it legal. Later, when Roosevelt became frustrated with the gross inefficiencies of the US military intelligence agencies, he would simply bypass the Army and the Navy and ask William J. “Wild Bill” Donovan to create the all-new Office of Strategic Services from scratch.

This is turning out to be a dreadful week for Trump, news-wise. I like it.

Trumpsters like to pretend its him just breaking the mold. And he was able to keep things close to the vest for a long time. But at some point you knew the skirting of the law and the cutting corners and disregard for decorum and protocol would unravel and catch up to him.

Just like the gold-plated crap he decorates his places with, underneath it all its really just cheap imitation crap.

That's fine... keep thinking that polls are always wrong. They are right more often than not. I would always rather see a poll showing my candidate with a lead, than way behind. You can cite one election where they were off... I can cite the previous 8 where they weren't.
I would not be the least surprised if Trump doesn’t win 48 states in 2020
