The Liberal Argument for a Higher Minimum Wage

Those horror stories are their choice, not yours. I don't think giving your kids Mountain Dew is a good idea since heart disease is the biggest killer in our nation; but I'm not trying to ban Mountain Dew either

Blame the gov.

Your body can function off a diet consisting of nothing but fat and protein actually. Both of those are essential. Glucose is not.

But either way, it's not glucose we are discussing. It's sucrose

You are somewhat correct:

Glucose is a carbohyrate, a sugar and the human body needs glucose to survive, so therefore it is essential. However, glucose can be obtained from protein and fat and it is not required for the body to obtain glucose from carbohydrate. However, it is the preferred method to obtain glucose from carbohydrate rather than from protein or fat since it is easier, quicker and more efficient.

So therefore, glucose is essential for life since the brain cells die quickly without it, not to mention the other body cells die without glucose. However, to repeat this, it is important to understand that glucose does not have to be obtained from carbohydrate essentially. It can be obtained from protein or fat by breaking down the protein or fat into glucose.

Swiss voters reject 'money for nothing' universal income proposal | Fox News

Swiss voters overwhelmingly rejected a proposal that would have guaranteed everyone in the Alpine nation an unconditional basic income, according to projections published Sunday by public broadcaster SRF1.

The plan could have seen people in this wealthy nation of 8 million people receive about 2,500 Swiss francs ($2,560) per month — enough to cover their basic needs.

Proponents argued that a basic income would free people from meaningless toil and allow them to pursue more productive or creative goals in life. Critics said the plan would explode the state budget and encourage idleness, arguments that appear to have convinced voters.

Based on a partial count of results from 19 Swiss cantons (states), the gfs.bern polling group calculated that 78 percent of voters opposed the measure against 22 percent in favor.

Nice to see the Swiss still have some wits about them.

That is not true. While all three can be used for cellular respiration (ideally glucose and fatty acids), the brain can physiologically only use glucose for cellular respiration. If there is a shortage of glucose, the brain will shut down as it does not have the energy source to operate. Which is what happens when people go to the gym and work out without eating a carb rich meal. They temporarily faint.

I took a semester of biochemistry about 6 months ago so my memory is still fuzzy, but I don't think that protein or fats can be converted into glucose. They can be converted into other molecules that can then undergo oxidative phosphorylation and produce ATP (like glucose), but I do not think it is possible for fats or protein to convert directly into glucose physiologically.

I know exactly what he did you donut pillow needing dope.

Those things matter to whom? Not me..... Don't drink and drive,.... Don't be a criminal.... Problem solved

Maybe the poster who asked him about it? If you don't care, there is no need to respond. I would guess you do care, but you don't have anything better to say.

Saying "I don't care" to someone who wasn't talking to you is probably the most useless response possible.

Why? Can't I still choose the expensive doctor?

If the option exists in your area. Professional degrees exist to protect the end user in this nation. yeah you get to charge more as the degree holder but you are also held to a much higher standard and almost always liability comes with it.

we already have "cheap doctors" go to any of you quick fix shops and talk to an RN. they can do most everything but write a prescription and we over prescribe as a nation anyway.

Minimum wage means that the worker has zero skill and easily replaceable...

oh come one, I've seen some McDonald's fry baggers that are really professional at their job. I mean this is pure skill, you can't learn something like this.

Uhhh, I didn't realize we were talking about abolishing licensing.

LOL at seeing an RN when you were just arguing for strict licensing. I know someone who has to pay $100 to see a doctor every time her shingles flare up, just so he can write her a scrip. She doesn't wanna hear about an over-prescribed nation and she scoffs at your opinion that cheap options do exist.

If you really want to lower health care costs, eliminate the entire concept of a prescription

My wife had a cream prescribed to her to help her skin deal with the arid climate here....$400. We just laughed at the pharmacist. It's a racket.
