The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

Legit question: if they continue to abandon enforcing immigration laws and protecting our southern border, should the federal government continue to exist in its current capacity? And I’m not talking about a revolution, but would that not be a justification for states to reprise their roles within the United States?
I think the fed need to enforce an effective border policy in a responsible and humane way, but immigration policy is constitutionally the responsibility of the federal government, so I'm not sure what role the states would be reprising.

But there’s a subset in the US constitution that allows states to protect their borders when the Federal government fails to do so. Maybe Texas should form their own country that is a US ally, but no longer pays into US taxes.

I don't think going it alone will be as beneficial as some people think it will be. A lot of the things we all rely on for essential and non-essential services are federal largesse. Think of state highways... whenever there's a major road improvement, there's almost always a federal component to the funding.

That's an example of the benevolent noose around our necks.

You misspelled "keyboard revolutionary."
Hear ye hear ye!
The sixth of January,
The keyboard rebellion and plot.
I know of no reason
Why the keyboarding treason
Should ever be forgot.
Don Trump and his allies
This scheme they all wrote
To steal an election
And upset the vote.
With fake electors in tow
They tried to overthrow
But by providence were caught
For brains they had not.
And now they’re all crying
But Don still is lying
As we toss them in jail to rot.

My comments were in general and not specifically about politicians so I felt no need to answer your stupid question. And your question is stupid because there are no honest politicians.
Again you feel you gain an edge by identifying it a stupid question. So often people shift the argument to win a discussion by drifting off the orginal question. I was making that point, dummy and you just confirmed what I said when you just should have "Agreed and Moved On". You didn't because you have to comment on everything and berate.
I see Trump has trained you well and look at the mess he is in.
Evidently his brand has worked well based on the new indictments issued today.

Do you ever read your own posts? If not you should, maybe with a little review they wouldn't sound so dumb.

The original discussion started with one of your mouth breathing brethren posting something along the lines of an honest person shouldn't be afraid to be questioned. Even he didn't specify a politician.

It’s definitely double edged sword. I do think Texas is the one state that might be able to pull it off if they had to, andI do agree with your line of thinking that other states wouldn’t do so well, unfortunately TN being one of them.

No, we are not a banana republic...

I'd bet the house that you could take one look at everyone of those grand jurors and say "yep, Biden voters". But they don't have the power to hand down indictments.

I really want to know what the prosecution put forward on Lindsey Graham to warrant that reaction...

Big balls going after Senators in another state. But it just goes to show how far the left will go with this political witch hunt. Eventually people are going to just shake their heads and give a FAFO response to this.

Article seemed to indicate they thought he lied under oath.

I don't think they are going to charge them, but man that would be interesting if states started prosecuting each others senators/house members.

We are watching the demise of our Republic. This is very similar to the fall of Venezuela when Chavez took over.

While we're on the topic of the governments weaponization against political foes. I'm glad to see there is equal outrage by the right on Gym Jordan trying to open a special investigation against Fani Willis for <checks notes> being a threat to Donald Trump.

Again, glad there is absolute fury by the right on this one. Otherwise, one might accuse the right of being hypocrites.

His investigation is political theater and nothing more since Jordan has absolutely no power to bring charges.

You know that and I know that, but his grandstanding perpetuates the illusion that she is somehow breaking the law or doing something she isn't supposed to be doing. It's unnecessarily divisive and completely undermines the right's argument of a "weaponized government". Remember, Trump fanatics aren't that bright, it takes a while for them to read between the lines.

That’s about what I expect from you.

You'd have representatives picking the representatives?

The 17th amendment was literally established to curb corruption.

Your faith in the character and altruism of our elected politicians is noted.
