The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

Though Trump has long portrayed the Biden White House’s involvement in the process as a sign of sinister politics, Smith’s team described it as limited, necessary and well-known to Trump’s aides, who did not protest.

So now he’s beginning to admit that Biden’s White House has been involved in this despite all the denials from the onset.

Yeah, anyone with a functioning brain knew that. The DoJ isnt going to go after a former President, especially on such a flimsy case, without the blessing of the sitting President.

Fani Willis’ Defense Of ‘Relationship’ With Special Prosecutor Doesn’t Quite Add Up

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ Friday denial of corruption allegations left many questions unanswered, including details about the start of her relationship with Nathan Wade and his prior professional experience.

Though Willis confirmed in a Friday court filing that she had a ‘personal relationship” with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor she appointed to work on the case against former President Donald Trump, she forcefully denied financially benefiting from awarding him a lucrative contract. Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, who had previously filed a motion to disqualify Willis and had made the initial allegations against her, filed a response later that day contesting many of Willis’ claims.

While Willis urged the judge to dismiss the pending motion to disqualify her without holding a hearing on Feb. 15, her filing did not resolve many central issues. Both Willis and Wade have been subpoenaed to testify during the hearing.

Here are some questions that remain unanswered ahead of Judge Scott McAfee weighing each side’s claims.

Fourth Defendant Calls For Fani Willis To Be Disqualified In Trump RICO Case

A fourth defendant piled on to the requests that a judge disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from the prosecution she is leading against former President Donald Trump in Georgia, according to a court document filed Monday.

David Shafer, former Georgia GOP chairman, argued through his attorneys that Willis’s personal relationship with one of the special prosecutors she hired for the case should disqualify her.

“Her conduct in hiring [Nathan] Wade, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars to be paid to him, benefitting personally, and failing to disclose her conduct is a clear breach of her fiduciary responsibility as trustee to the citizens of Fulton County, Georgia,” Shafer’s attorneys wrote.

Shafer is among 19 co-defendants whom Willis charged last year with felony racketeering violations over allegations they illegally conspired to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Willis hired three special prosecutors to assist with the case, including Wade, a private sector defense lawyer whose qualifications to handle the high-profile and complex prosecution of a former president have drawn enormous scrutiny.

Fox Media and other media outlets are beginning to push back on Trump. Three incidents this past week along have openly taking shots at Trump and other Republicans when their answers were questioned with other facts. Mace and MacCallum, Republicans calling out other Republicans (See Lankford), Trump's hires questioned and the shift at least a reasonable margin is beginning to move away from Trump. Even the Border Patrol Union has endorsed the Bill. Presidential Immunity denied.

Watershed moment.

Federal Appeals Court Rejects Trump’s Claim of Absolute Immunity

The ruling answered a question that an appeals court had never addressed: Can former presidents escape being held accountable by the criminal justice system for things they did while in office?

this was expected by panel of 3 judges who hate and have an obvious bias against Trump. These 3 panel judges are supposed to be chosen randomly but Trump hating judges always seem to dominate these panels somehow. Trump will probably as for an en banc ruling, that will probably be denied and it will then go to SCOTUS.

(I believe 2 of the 3 judges were appointed by Biden)

It makes no difference who appointed these judges...it boils down to rule of law...Surely you know that and it will be Appealed or set for arguments in front of the full Circuit Court.

Literally the only reasonable ruling.

judges allow for their biases against Trump. If it boils down to 'rule of law' then there should be no such thing as liberal judges or conservative judges but there are due to personal bias in interpreting the law and personal bias, in this case, against the defendant Trump. If SCOTUS overturns this 3 panel judges' ruling, would biased have been involved in the 3 judge panel ruling against Trump?

The judge in NY already found Trump guilty before the trial even started.

So the appellate order is on hold until Feb 12. If Trump seeks relief at SCOTUS by then, the order can remain on hold pending SCOTUS response to Trump’s petition for cert to hear appellate decision.

If he seeks “en banc” (full DC circuit review, which is pointless bc it’s a heavy Obama court) the order won’t remain on hold and Chutkan can restart pretrial proceedings. So this forces Trump to skip next step and go straight to SCOTUS and faster than usual. (Appellant usually has up to 90 days to file cert petition after appellate decision is posted).

More politics…

DC Court: "For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump"

Yet Trump was the President on January 6th

Well, I guess Obama can now be tried for murder for killing an American in a drone strike without due process.

Dems will not worry about former Dem presidents being charged criminally:

The reason why Biden regime, DOJ, and federal judges in DC are totally comfortable with this is they know a DC grand jury would never indict a former Democratic president. It’s a total safe zone for Democrats (ask Michael Sussmann).

So the only route for a Republican administration to indict a Democrat president is to shut down DC federal court entirely (which Trump and GOP should be immediately in 2025 if he’s elected) and move jurisdiction to VA or MD.

Otherwise only GOP presidents will be indicted.
