The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

Trump shares some blame, for sure. Biden is the current guy, though, and he is the one wanting $87 billion for the Ukraine.

I don’t think there are many on here, if any, that full on support Trump 100%. I have said it a million times: I think Trump is a skeezy guy. But I also see government weaponized against him, and that’s scary. If they’ll do that to him, they’ll do it to any of us that speak out, which is why we shouldn’t be so quick to vilify him.

Trump deserves a helluva lot of blame for our covid response and the inflation that resulted. He should have fired or at least silenced Fauci from the start, and any state that shut down should have been disqualified from receiving federal covid assistance. Same for foreign countries that receive aid from us.

You didn't want Biden but you voted for him? More of that partisan math
It's very simple.

Priority one..........anybody but Trump. That was always known. People stated repeatedly things like "I would vote for a rock over Trump." That is still the case. Why others seem unable to process that is beyond me.

Priority two........have the viable candidate running against Trump be someone other than Biden.

I'll take another D, a moderate R, a viable 3rd party - ANYONE BUT TRUMP - even if it's a rock.

A lot of people voted "against" Trump. They were not voting "for" Biden. I do not agree that was the best choice based on policy, but I understood it. Trump is a crude a-- who thinks that 35% of the electorate (70% of Republican primary voters) going nuts for him is a sign and he's right, it is a sign he is going to have a tough time getting to 50%.

He's going to be the nominee unless something extraordinary happens and I am becoming more and more convinced that not only will he lose, the HoR will swing big to the Democrats as well. They might even scare getting a super majority of the Senate.

Leaning towards Biden not being the nominee. I expect Newsome will wind up being the anointed one and he's slick and smart enough to deal with Trump's schoolyard antics. I'll vote for Trump just because policy-wise he's better, but I'll be grinding my teeth knowing if he wins we're looking at a four-year, three-ring circus again.

Please---Rekieta is an idiot. He pushes this nonsense that it's not really illegal to do something illegal if you believe in what you are doing--and believe that the other side engaged in illegality and therefore your actions should be illegal or, at least, not illegal. BS. And then, like the rubes, he wants to wave it it all off--the lies and the conspiracy--as no big deal because it didn't actually happen. Again, bull$hit. People get arrested and imprisoned for conspiring to kill somebody even if the murder isn't carried out.

There was a conspiracy to submit fake electors to states and to Congress. In Pennsylvania, the fake electors actually showed up at the capitol claiming to be the electors, only to be told that the real electors were already inside. There was a conspiracy to defraud the American people and to subvert an election--period. One of the main conspirators, lawyer Chesebro, has already pleaded guilty to a felony in Georgia--where he was treated rather lightly, I would argue. He should be drummed out of the legal profession. Some of the lawyers who worked with the gangster to subvert the election will lose state licenses. They should all probably be in prison.

We've seen this nonsense from the trumpies all along. "Oh, we thought there might be vote fraud, so that's why we tried to overturn the election." Or: "We believed there was vote fraud, even though there was no proof of vote fraud, and so that's why he tried to organize a coup." Uh, no.

It's the old: "Gee, I thought the guy standing in my store (looking at greeting cards) might try to rob me, or might have a gun, so i shot him." Nobody is allowed to break laws based on the self-serving bull$hit running through his head that has no relation to the facts.

What makes one a MAGA rube: It's a person that gets his dirty undies in a knot and all hot and bothered and outraged when a black football players kneels during the national anthem but wants to wave off a conspiracy to subvert an election and a mob attack on the U.S. Capitol that results in several deaths--an attack on our democracy--as no big deal. The smell of serious hypocrisy and deceit.

Rekieta thoroughly explains this multiple times to Destiny, who you sound just like. Destiny makes the same illogical arguments working backwards. The "fake electors" didnt commit fraud because had the US Senate successfully appealed (the VP halts the count and returns the issue back to GA for clarity) and GA decides there was fraud, those "fake electors" would then be the rightful designated electors chosen by the GA Legislature. You are taking lawful actions, working backwards, misconstruing law and coming up with a perverted charge of fraud. And doing it under RICO is the cherry on top.

This may be more asinine than the recent Trump NY verdict, although both are HUGE miscarriages of justice and ANYONE who supports them should be ashamed.

Oh, Trump will lose the general election there is no doubt about that and it won't matter who the D nominee is. I agree with you that the Rs will most likely lose the House and lose even more seats in the Senate.

Well good for you. Now if you would only exercise some principles in the general election you would expand your personal growth.
I am more than happy with the principles behind my vote placement in the general.
In case it's not clear....2016, 2020, 2024 (The viable candidate who is ANYBODY BUT TRUMP)

I don’t think he makes it to the general election. I think the powers that be will make sure that doesn’t happen at all costs.

Trump does share the blame as well. Biden is the current guy and does not have the ability to lead or fix the issues that we are facing today.
Trump with his mouth gave the government the ability for the govt to weaponized against him. This was and is a self-inflicted open bleeding chest wound because the govt (Democrats) couldn't ignored his lies and because he could not STFU.
I don't think anybody has the reach that Trump has nor do they have the mouth he has to cause the concern. Calling it a weaponization of govt is what Trump wants you to believe, but put the blame on Trump and his mouth. He caused it.
What's more, he committed some of the acts he committed to in the process and admitted them.
As a Republican, I have watched this party get destroyed by Trump's Antics. Trump called many prominent Republicans RINOs when he should have just pasted the label on his own forehead. Yet some buy all this BS, I don't but I am still a Republican, but not MAGA.

There’s no way you were a real republican when you say the garbage that you do.

I'm proud to have voted for Biden over Trump; that hasn't changed in the least. I would do the same '24 without hesitation.
Fortunately, I do not believe Biden will be the democratic candidate.
I too took a hiatus because I was fed up with the absolute mindlessness and gullibility of Trump supporters.

What is a "real republican"?
Copy and paste, but something along these lines (although I get that most in government don’t follow these ideas even when they claim to).

To this end, they advocate in favor of laissez-faire economics, limited government, free markets and free trade, tax cuts, reduced government spending, privatization, and the reduction of government run welfare programs in favor of private-sector nonprofits and encouraging personal responsibility.
