The Masters Tournament

Course looks in great shape, as always. Too bad about the Eisenhower tree. The reporters seem convinced that they will consider putting a bunker in on 17, instead.

Billy Payne said in his press conference that they may do something or may do nothing & something to the affect they'd monitor scoring on the hole.

I saw it. He also said that they enjoy creating challenges that will challenge the timid player. They will do what they want to do. If I remember right, Eisenhower asked them to take the tree, his nemesis, down. His influence wouldn't bring down that tree, although he did get the Eisenhower pond built.

Where did Ike's tree leftover wood go? I figure someone's planning on selling pieces or carvings.

Watching a little on Apple TV through iPhone. Found a bug though, when screen auto locks after 30 secs or so it stops on Apple TV.

Three things are guaranteed in life.

Death
Taxes
And Freddy Couples playing well in the Masters, every year!

That's one of the great things about Augusta National. It's long but still playable for some of the older guys. There's always a player or two on a nostalgia run the first day or two.

Yeah it definitely adds to the excitement the first day or two. Cool to see a Ben Crenshaw, Sandy Lyle and/or Larry Mize hanging around on the leaderboard.

yep, not surprising

Is there some unwritten golf rule I'm unaware of that frowns upon amateurs showing up pros by beating them? It wasn't just Sergio. He was certainly more dickish about it, but Rory also mentioned thinking he would intentionally three-putt so they would end up tied.
