The Masters Tournament

After that near disaster, it's Going to be huge if Kuchar can manage to make par and stay alive.

I was amazed at how beautiful Amen Corner was for such a terrible spot for viewing golf.

And crowds at the bathroom and concessions were ridiculous.

Yeah, for all the hype, you can't get very close to 11 green, 12 green or 13 tee. IMO 13 is the prettiest hole on the course when the azaleas are blooming.

I was surprised you could park a chair around 18 and find it in the same place 6 hours later. And everything about the course just seemed so big.

That's sick where Bubba just hit his drive on 13. An eagle buries Kuchar and puts Spieth and Blixt on life support.

Right there is what scares me with Bubba. He's a bona fide moron for even trying that shot.

Is there some unwritten golf rule I'm unaware of that frowns upon amateurs showing up pros by beating them? It wasn't just Sergio. He was certainly more dickish about it, but Rory also mentioned thinking he would intentionally three-putt so they would end up tied.

Rory was joking. Sergio wasn't. I saw that guy at a PGA championship years ago giving little kids a hard time over autographs. Seriously hate that guy

Some thoughts.

They Gosses seemed like good people. I met his dad and told him lots of people on message boards and what not were commenting on him and that we love our Vols and to let him know that UT was happy for him. His coach told me they wanted him to go pro (or at least felt he was ready) but he was set on going to college, so they set out to find a very good developmental program and said UT was the best they saw. I don't know the differences in collegiate programs (like the difference between developmental and anything else). They also told me that he loves college so much he wants to do one more year and as of right now will probably be back. I kept saying Vols, so a friend stepped in and asked what a Vol was and why we are the Vols so I explained briefly the history of the name. He actually was familiar with the war.

As for the course, there is so much more there than anything you see on TV. I was amazed.

We got in gate 6a around 8 and went to the shop almost immediately. The place was a complete **** show by the time we finished up in there. It's easily the least organized place on the grounds. I wasn't expecting people in the bathrooms directing traffic, but they run an incredibly efficient tournament otherwise. And the staff is incredibly friendly and everybody speaks to you.

We walked the course at least twice, and I'd say around 12 miles. I was impressed with how easy it is to navigate and how close each hole seemed to 2-3 others. We caught some much needed shade behind 7 tee and were up close to everybody. That is what I thought was the most intimidating hole. The bunkers that guard that green look like the size of Texas. I'd **** all over myself if faced with that approach. TV doesn't do the elevation and undulation justice. The whole place is a monster.

Stood at 10 where Bubba hit from in 2012. That **** was crazy. So was where Phil hit on 13. Amen Corner was incredibly crowded and not a good spot to watch golf. It's beautiful and amazing to visit, but I wouldn't sit there all day. The lines were insane. 2 is the best place for concessions and bathrooms. The corner and main gate are the worst.

It was an incredible experience and I am grateful to have had the opportunity. I look forward to the year I get to go again.

Agreed. The Corner is cool for all the action that goes on there during the tournament, but in person from a spectator standpoint is HIGHLY overrated. It's crowded as hell, and there isn't so much as one iota of shade. We've gone in 6a both times I went, but since I now have one of the chairs they let you set up, the next time I go I'm going in the other gate at the bottom of the course so I can get first dibs on a spot at #16. A good spot where you can see all the action there, see approaches at #15 and watch #6 green is hard to beat.
