The Masters

I'll agree with NY, too much history of crumbling on the weekend for me to feel comfortable picking him.

I'm gonna throw out two veteran names that I think have a shooter's chance to be there on the weekend: Vijay Singh and Jim Furyk.

I can imagine Vijay with a putt to win it on 18. Would make Watson's stroke at the Open look like Crenshaw's.

Watching this Phil/Tiger combo on Espn right now.

Reporter asks Phil who the best in the world is. Phil refuses to answer.

He then asks Tiger. Tiger says when he gets his swing in tune, it's him.

Cocky/ confident/ whatever you call it. I'm still a fan.

If his putter was working, he could prolly win even with the swing changes.

Unfortunately he hasn't made anything since he changed putters. Seems so obvious... go back to the old one...

If he doesn't fold like a cheap suit. Just don't think Augusta National fits him well, either.

I like the DJ pick. People forget he made birdie on 16 and 17 at Whistling before he made that mistake. A wouldn't say he folded at the PGA. He also came back later last year and won the BMW.

I would consider his meltdown at Pebble the exception, not the rule.

Plus, he's stupid long. The only question is does he want it Nick Reviez bad or just normal bad.

There have been many choke jobs worse than what he pulled off. That said, the Masters is the Masters. Place is hard enough without having those demons of past major failures in your noggin. I'd love to see him win it, just don't think he's at that point yet.

Yeah, that stroke by Watson on the 72nd was right out of the Sears wishbook. That being said, he could still spot you two up a side and beat your brains out

Everyone says when he gets his swing fixed he is going to start winning again. BS. He won't start winning again until he starts draining the 5-10 footers with some regularity again. It's not his swing that has kept him from winning. It has been is putting.Heck, he NEVER hit many fairways and his iron play has been as stellar as ever. Missing short putts works on your mind moreso than hitting your driver sideways.

Dude can still play. Hated watching him yip that thing.

Oh God. I was a nervous wreck watching that morning. He was always my favorite player. Heck, I molded my swing after him. There is no doubt the tears would have been rolling down my cheeks had he won that day.

Still is one of the greatest accomplishments in sports over the last 25-30 years

1000% correct. Since Haney overhauled his swing, the Driver has gotten him into more trouble than before . . . but it's ALL about the putter.

Drive for show, putt for dough. (Putting is the only thing that makes me even semi-worth taking in a scramble.)

As for a winner, I'd love to see Lefty win another one, but I don't think it'll happen. Wouldn't mind Els taking it either.

But his irons have failed him too. Lack of reps appeared to be the main issue. It is his putting and wedging that wins, but he was the best iron player ever for about 10 years. He's not today.
