The mighty Gators

Their offense looked very vanilla, they were definitely holding some things back. The snapping will get corrected, but the O-line still looked awful. I think their QB play will be fine, but if their O-line plays like that in the SEC, they'll get destroyed. That said, Florida will still win 10 games this year. People are looking way too much into this.

The bright side is we can only get better at this point. We can't continue playing as we did today.

They will be contenders sooner than later, i think Gibson will be a solid coach.

I'm not so sure. This season has been dreadful for sure. We traded Dan Haren, which in my opinion was a mistake, and J-Up wasn't able to replicate last seasons success. Though Chris Young was pleasantly surprising. In addition to that, Brandon Webb was out all season.

It's tough being a D-Backs fan.

Its one thing to play bad, but that was horrid. USF gonna have some confidence next week in Gainesville. Will be a close game, and BJ Daniels will be able to make things happen when the pocket collapses at times. Dont care what anybody says, UF has no shot to win the SEC imo. Maybe I underestimated the transition for Brantley.

let the babies have their bottle and make season long predictions based off this game. it'll make my trip to knoxville much more fun to see the false hopes of vols get shattered again this year. will you guys be celebrating a moral victory if we win by double digits again this year?

that was one of the worst offensive performances I have ever seen, HS teams snap the ball better than our All American can; thank god we have a defense

If the Gators fumble 7 snaps again we'll be celebrating more than a moral victory.

Well, that was a hot mess.

The only bright spots were Black on defense and Hines on offense. Everyone else took the afternoon off. Brantley gets an incomplete because by the 2nd quarter he was more concerned with securing the snap than making plays.

Our o-line looked like complete garbage.

Thankfully Ole Miss just crapped the bed to keep us from being the headliner on SportsCenter.

Florida will be fine as long as they correct the snapping issue. It RUINED them today. 13 botched snaps leading to 8 fumbles, which Florida lost 3.

Honestly reminded me of the Ole Miss debacle in 2008 where everything went wrong in the 2nd half.

Honeslty, most teams that make THAT many mistakes regarding simple execution in a game will lose like 90% of the time but Florida won by 22.

If Florida pulls the same crap against USF next week, then you can start feeling confident, but otherwise, I would reserve judgement.

I'm going to catch heck for this but I agree with what Holtz said. I think the mistakes were only a part of the problem tonight. Another issue was Florida's Oline. They were not dominant tonight. They may be a different animal next week but tonight they just couldn't do much with Miami's dline. I agree though, the first order of business is the mistakes.

Well, it will be interesting to watch how much progress UF makes by next week....For now, I will take the pure entertainment that was Gator football in Week one.

UF will get things corrected...but here I was being flamed in another thread all week by the Gator trolls and even some UT fans for saying Meyer wasn't all that elite, and he was made to look better than he really was by fertile recruiting grounds, a weak SEC east, Mullen, Tebow, and Strong.

If I had to guess I would bet UF still wins 9-10 games this year, just on the sheer talent he gets right from his backyard. But I still contend he isn't near the genius all the yahoos on here bow down to him as.

Mark it down. If he loses more than 4 games this year he "retires" again.

That you would reach such a conclusion based on one game, at the beginning of a season with a new QB and some injuries causing players to be shifted around last minute in an offense that is built on timing, proves that you have no clue what you are talking about.

I won't call you a complete moron because you are coming into this discussion late. Needless to say, my opinion isn't based on one game, it is based on the last 4 years. Meyer's success was due to a number of factors, I just don't put a lot of weight into the coaching aspect.

And I'm sorry gator, timing or not and your stupid excuses aside, snapping the ball correctly should be expected from an "elitely" coached team that had all spring and summer to practice it. You know, it kind of all starts there.

You have a point there, but Meyer is a very good coach. I expect them to turn things around by the time they meet us. I'm hoping they don't, of course

Oregon and UF fan? Can't make up your mind? I suppose if one has a bad season then they will be taken off and replaced with a team that had a good season?

LG, It's not a one game thing. He's had this opinion for a while...
