The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

So why did they call 911 and follow him?

They told police they had seen Arbery around at some non-specific point in the recent past and that there had been some break-ins in the neighborhood. They never told police that they'd seen him at the construction site that day and all available evidence, including the statement of the homeowner, shows that there is no way they could have seen him.

Again, not that it would justify their actions, but it looks like I need to go back and read the reports of what happened.

Still blows my mind that people think it's okay to go in these houses.

I'm currently in the market for a new weed eater. Instead of reading reviews online, I might just survey what my neighborhood likes. Anyone with an open garage door I might just slip inside and check out the different weedeaters on the market. I promise not to touch anything. Does anyone think this acceptable?

There are a bunch of houses under construction in my neighborhood. Strangers and neighbors go inside and look at them all the time after the crew leaves in the afternoon. These people could be potential buyers, owners, etc. Some are just looking to get ideas about their own houses.

Wrong. These people are hardened criminals who deserve to be hunted down and murdered by a nosy neighbor who thinks he’s Buford Pusser.

And in my opinion they are wrong in doing so. It is not their property, and they should not be there.

Is it okay for me to go check out the inside of my neighbor's car if he leaves it unlocked in the driveway? I mean , after all, I might like the interior choice he went with.

As I said, some of the people are potential buyers that I have sent over to look at them. One I met is the owner. You can't assume anyone looking at a house under construction is criminal.

We were the 8th house out of 120 that were to be built. I've seen the inside of many and never felt strange for doing so. How is this so uncommon?

Okay, so at worst Arbery was guilty of breaking and entering. Is the penalty for that to be chased down by two rednecks with guns and murdered? For a group of people who love to claim innocent until proven guilty there has been a lot of assuming this guy was guilty and that handing out justice was deserved.

I don't want to speak for him. In my opinion his death was unnecessary as the McMichaels had no business escalating the situation, however I will continue to say if you put yourself in these situations then the risk of something bad happening goes up.
I think most of us would agree 100% with this statement.

Just read McMichael's 911 call and his statement to police. He never mentions that house.

I think I figured out where I was wrong. The initial call on the day of his death was from another neighbor that watched him go in the house (not either McMichael). Travis Mcmicheal called several days earlier, and also was the 2nd 911 call on the day of Arbery's death.

Again, how do you not see the difference in these two things? lol Are you just being facetious? Honest to God I can't tell.

Literally no one is saying "justice was deserved". If you can find one person saying that in this thread please show me.

Lol at the "hunted down" and murdered scenario. That is part of the racial language to stir up hatred in every situation. You and others act like the McMichaels were on the white power conference call that morning and were told to huntin some innocent black joggers.

All these videos and discovery will help decide is the difference between murder-1 and voluntary manslaughter....I think the prosecution should go toward manslaughter. Much easier to convict and all it takes is 1 person to derail a murder 1 charge.

The bold was Greg, but you're correct otherwise.

They followed him and blocked the road. They then shot and murdered him when he didn’t comply. Where, exactly, am I wrong?

I'm not making any claims regarding the legality of it, but my parents and I visited several homes under construction over the course of a few months when they were shopping. It was when I was pretty young, but I want to say that the realtor had encouraged it. Again, I'm not making any implications other than I think it's pretty common for people to scope out unfinished homes. This is apparently evident by the fact that several others had visited (or trespassed) the house in addition to Arbery.

In any case, it's irrelevant to Arbery's shooting.

You don't know the difference between an unoccupied open construction site, and a homeowner's shed in his backyard? Why do you need this explained to you?

What makes the construction site okay? It was a house remodel. Its someone's property and you are going there without their permission. I also gave you the car in the driveway scenario if you didnt like the open garage door. I'm not there to do any harm, just getting ideas.

I just made a post regarding your first statement.

Now, what is the relevance of this debate in regards to the Arbery shooting?

Using the term hunted down is acting like they were sitting around and said "let's go hunting some black guys out joggin". They were wrong in what they did but Arbery wasn't anymore hunted down than Calvin Munerlyn or Dexter Ranz was. You know the lives don't matter to the selective outrage crowd?

You have to have the "hunted down" bs because it bolsters your political view instead of facts.

I've posted several days ago, that putting oneself in a situation like this might draw unintended consequences. It doesnt justify what happened in any way.

Where did I claim that Munerlyn wasn’t hunted down. He most certainly was. That’s as slam dunk a case of premeditated murder there is. That doesn’t mean jack **** to this story though.
