The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

maybe it was a set up. they left the gun in the car knowing it would be stolen and then they'd have a reason to shoot the thief.

She is confusing the incidents
Nope. But Travis did file a report on January 1st, per another source.

So he did file a report cause he left his vehicle unlocked and then had his gun stolen. THEN he pointed a gun and shot a man. Is that right?

I’m curious to how many posters in this thread believe that Bryant who never did anything with a firearm and was simply following and filming the incident should be charged with felony murder?
I’m perplexed by the charge and can’t help, but wonder if there is something we may not know ..... or if the DA is caving in to the media pressure

Accessory to a crime means you committed the crime. If the authorities determined that Bryan participated in the chase, then the law says he shares responsibility for Arbery's death.

I assume Bryan will work out a plea and turn state's evidence. Might never see a day in prison.

My concern here is that if he (Bryan) thought he was helping Greg and Travis chase a burglary suspect; what with Greg being a retired LEO; if he never displayed a weapon; and he honestly thought he was doing the right thing...then even though the elements of the offense may be met, I'm having a hard time with "motive" here. There must be more that we (I) don't know at this point.

If not, why in Heaven's name would he knowingly video himself breaking the law?

So I have that question, and I guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays out. I know there is more video now, but haven't seen it. Must be damning.

I read the Autopsy Report. The wounds are horrific. Usually are with a shotgun at close range.

My post above was intended to be a response to you. GBI has said they do not anticipate any more arrests in this investigation.

Edit: I doubt the (Cobb) DA is caving to anything. This story is national, and it's a safe bet that the High Governor of the Great State of Georgia Himself gets daily updates on this one. If the DA said "charge it", then PC had to be present. "Beyond reasonable doubt" being another level of proof entirely. We'll see.

Meanwhile, back at the Ranch...the separate GBI investigation into the actions of the Glynn and Ware DA's offices continues.

Like I said, long summer ahead.

While it’s their right it’s not something I’d do....emotions are running high with the Arbery situation and it could become a powder keg

Emotions were running high in Michigan also, but law enforcement showed restraint.

So assuming protestors in Georgia are also within their right to be armed, why shouldn’t law enforcement show the same restraint?

That’s not what I’m talking about. I’m thinking if the guys aren’t convicted that all hell will break loose with rioting and what not.

FYI, and a change of subject, but there is a bombshell article in the AJC about the Swain murders.

Definitely worth the read.

Sounds like there was some half ass investigative work involved.....
Gregory, the now-retired GBI agent who spoke with the person who identified himself as Mobley, said recently he now fears he may have been given a fake number by Sparre, and the person claiming to be the boss might’ve been lying.

So they cared enough to point a gun at the guy, but not enough to fill a report. Gotcha.
I think they are guilty but in their defense..... from someone who has had stuff take ..... filing a report is a waste of time bc the police don’t do sh$t with it....

They should show restraint in both instances but we are dealing with humans so all bets are off the table.....It always cracked me up when someone says that this particular cop didn’t shoot in a similar situation.... it is like people don’t understand that they are two entirely different people.
