I am basing my debate points off actual law and the evidence presented. All officers or juries or courts can do is examine the eyewitness statements, camera footage, forensic analysis, reports and statements, and the video and base their judgement on the actual laws in question.

It come down to the following under GA state law:

- Did the two guys have a reasonable amount of evidence to attempt detaining Arbery and did they attempt to call the police to assist?
- Did the two guys have a right under GA state law to be carrying their weapons on their person and in the vehicle?
- Does the son have a right to self-defense when he is physically attacked and the gun is attempting to be taken from his hands?
- Is it provable 100% that the son shot the fatal shot to Arbery vs. the gun's trigger being pulled in the struggle by Arbery accidentally? Is there GS residue on Arbery's hands?

All that plays into effect when you examine the actual facts and of ALL THOSE POINTS, only the first one is not 100% clear by all the evidence yet.

I gotta say that possessing is one thing, brandishing is a whole different thing in terms of threat. You can possess a firearm and no one ever knows you have it. Once you pull it out and brandish it, that’s a game changer. Have you EVER heard of 2 black or other race people chasing down a white guy jogging and trying to detain him? I haven't. There is no reversal here. Good for you and MS. If you draw a weapon and point it without the person you are pointing it at showing a credible life threat, you are guilty of at a minimum of assault with a deadly weapon. Arbery had drawn no weapon nor was he armed. As a normal citizen you ARE NOT legally allowed to detain ANYONE using and firearm unless they are in your home. Definitely not out in the street.

If the prosecutor follows your playbook then he's a dumbass. And if the defense attorney thinks that's all it will take to get his clients off, he's a bigger dumbass. The only thing I question in all of this is the potential bias of the GJ members, and their ability to recognize how this unfolded. If not for the actions of two dumbasses acting without authority, a man would still be alive. And if he were guilty of any crimes himself, would potentially in police custody.

There are some that will come after you if they believe you were stealing and I'm not sure why that is hard to believe and also why it has to be some racial thing? I hate thieves as well but once they are off my property I'm not going after them.

People get upset at much less than stealing yet I don't see them roundly stereotyped. Security guard got killed at Family Dollar for asking a lady's daughter to put a mask on while shopping, they exchanged words, she left and told her husband and he came back and shot the security guard in the head.

I understand that not all crimes which involve violence from one race onto the other aren't necessarily racially motivated. I don't understand why a select few insist on denying the possibility.

They didn't do anything to put themselves in a bad situation other than merely being outside a friend's apartment at night in East Knoxville.
