The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

Although that was a DUI, didn't they determine that that really didn't make a difference? Maybe I'm misremembering, but didn't the guy just dart out in front of Stallworth on a freeway.

He got a really light sentence because of the circumstances. It was the pedestrian's fault, but if he were more alert he may have been able to prevent it.

Just being honest, I don't understand the victim blaming, or the desire to mitigate what these two dumbasses did. Yes, the victim shouldn't have charged, but damn, you don't know how you're going to react until you're the one that finds yourself confronted by two armed strangers in the middle of the road with no lawful authority.

And, not making this a racist issue, but it does take on another level when it's a black man confronted by two white men. Right or wrong, our society tells black people to be afraid when confronted by white men, and honestly, vice versa. We don't live in a society that promotes racial unity. We are told to be suspicious of each other through media and so-called leaders. Racism doesn't actually have to occur for it to be part of the equation.
Fight or flight. He tried flight, probably thought he had no other option but to try and fight.

That being said I'm sure he could have skipped through the woods and eluded these folks. They dont look like the types who could sustain a long foot pursuit..

Maybe if his BA wasn't .126 . . . and the family didn't want a trial and he compensated them for an undisclosed amount and. . .

That's one of my biggest questions. Why he seemed to be headed off to the right then all of a sudden cut back to the left toward the gunman. Maybe the simple fact that he was exhausted and physically couldn't run anymore. Idk.

To be felony murder you must show intent. Where are you finding intent to kill or harm in this video?

Or are you using a different definition? If so can you provide it

In Georgia, if a death occurs during the commission of any other felony, it is automatically felony murder.

O.C.G.A. 16-5-1 (2010)
16-5-1. Murder; felony murder

(a) A person commits the offense of murder when he unlawfully and with malice aforethought, either express or implied, causes the death of another human being.

(b) Express malice is that deliberate intention unlawfully to take the life of another human being which is manifested by external circumstances capable of proof. Malice shall be implied where no considerable provocation appears and where all the circumstances of the killing show an abandoned and malignant heart.

(c) A person also commits the offense of murder when, in the commission of a felony, he causes the death of another human being irrespective of malice.

(d) A person convicted of the offense of murder shall be punished by death, by imprisonment for life without parole, or by imprisonment for life.

Unfortunately we'll never know what he was thinking. As long as we're just speculating. Could the father and son have been yelling threatening or even racial insults at him? Did he feel if he ran away they would shoot him in the back. Maybe he felt the only way out was to fight.

Probably has been posted, but the last reported burglary was 7 weeks prior and it was a pistol taken out of an unlocked vehicle from outside of McMichael's home. More completely irresponsible gun ownership from these bozos

No burglaries were reported in neighborhood where Ahmaud Arbery was killed, contradicting suspects’ claim: report
Again the homeowner said he had the home security video footage of same suspect a day or two before. Just because a police report wasn’t filed doesn’t mean anything. The neighborhood clearly knew about these issues as at least four different people had knowledge

I would argue it means they decided to handle it themselves.

If it goes to trial maybe some of that can actually be verified.

Link or stfu. I've asked so many times

There is a 911 call that reports someone on the property. This precedes the call right before the shooting. The articles are weird on the subject, and I can't tell if both calls came from McMichael or not.
I think one came from McMichael. One came from the other guy

That actually makes some sense. Because no where in their report so they claim they saw him around the unfinished house. McMichael first laid eyes on Arbery "hauling ass" down the street in front of his home.

OK, but this doesn't confirm a burglary a "day or two" prior.

Ricky, why are the neighbors waiting to release the security footage? They gonna do it after the McMichaels get prison raped/lynched?

The county DA and the police dept have a history of impeding GBI investigations for one of their own. GW provided some links earlier. I'd be concerned they're attempting to do so again.

Why would that matter? Words dont hurt. But, as the video shows, shotguns do.

If you read that article, the one homeowner hasn’t released to media bc he is getting death threats and the media wants to plaster him everywhere and bring up his past. He gave it to the police

I can understand his concern, for sure.

If he did in fact make the call, it only confirms that the McMichaels didn't witness Arbery do anything.

Off-topic, but does every state have a bureau of investigation? I'm not sure I've heard of it in other places, but I've heard about it in GA on many occasions.

And back on topic, why would the county impede surveillance footage that can exonerate (or at least calm things down) the McMichaels?
