The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

ok see? we can agree on this..lol i said they were idiots and went about it wrong.

I just still believe that they didnt set out in that truck thinking "let's go kill this guy"
But they did.

I don't think they jumped in the truck with the straight up intention to kill him.. But, like I said earlier, I don't think they thought about it one way or the other, meaning I don't think they cared if they did or not.

And I also could be wrong. All I know is for what seems to be a guy that unlawfully walked around in an unfinished house, got chased down and killed by those two guys.

You don't know what people like that are thinking. What do I mean by " people like that "? People that chase someone down and end up killing them. Im no angel, but I've never chased someone down and accidentally shot them to death.

You have lost your mind.
Guess you decided to talk to me again after saying you didn't want to?

And lost my mind over what exactly?
Are you denying you would call the police if someone was on your property trying to get in your house?
or are you denying your posts from 2012 about Trayvon also trying to excuse his criminal behavior?

Even after all this you refuse to answer the simple question

For whatever faults can be laid on the handling of the situation the idea they actually "set out" to kill Arbery at 1:00 PM on a Sunday in a suburban neighborhood street after actually calling the police to inform them they were pursuing goes beyond my accepting as a reasonably held belief. That it is very likely it was known the third man was videoing the engagement pushes lack of credibility for that argument even further.

Now having said the above felony murder is still very much on the table if the armed CA/detainment does not hold up and manslaughter is more likely than not regardless.

This is what ive been saying, but some think these two are racists who woke up one morning and said, look at that guy, let's go trap him and shoot him.

If Arbery had never physically attacked them and tried to grab his gun, he would've never been shot.

You realize that culture isn't a race right? The culture of inner-city ghettos and of white trash trailer parks are the exact same, and yes poverty does play a role, but it's not the main factor or else ever poor person would be a felon, and that's not close to being true.

It comes down to having a stable home with two good parents who instill in you the right values (hard work, ethics, education, not doing drugs or stealing crap, etc.) Unfortunately in these areas (with 65-80% single homes without a good father), the gangs/druggies step in and mold already a kid with an already questionable upbringing and turn them into yet another criminal.

I have a friend of mine who grew up in Walter P and whose father was shot and killed when he was 2. He had a great mother and support system from his family who taught him the right way to do things. He worked hard, went to school (despite his friends making fun of him for "being white" and threatening him several times) and he graduated college and now makes 6 figures and moved his mom out to Nashville with him as a successful businessman. Anyone has that opportunity or can make that opportunity if they CHOOSE.
Poverty isn't culture. But by your takes I'm confident in saying you aren't a cultural expert.

I also call bull on your friend. If he got picked on it was because he was lame. Not educated or successful. Corny and lame black people who would be picked on regardless if they were black or white love to say that instead of admitting they were just geeks. I was a black kid who was in all honors and AP classes and all of that. I was known for being super smart since I was in elementary. I was never picked on for being a nerd. Some white kids in my same classes were. By white kids because they were "nerds."

Its hilarious that one of the most well known tropes, which countless movies, films, tv shows, books, and whatever popular media you want to name is the white kids picking on nerds. When a black kid is picked on for being a nerd racist use is to confirm their biases . When a million things about white nerds or dorks or geeks being bullied are about white kids its just kids being kids.

Inner city and the trailer park are not the same culture, Just the same economic struggle leading to some of the same problems. Culture is music, art, language, traditions. Different things buddy.

I would agree with this 100%. It was just a fluke occurrence, and a guy is dead, and many lives ruined.

Expert? Not by any means, but i am well-educated and experienced to witness it first-hand every day

You can ask him yourself, and funny that even YOU call him "lame" and you don't even know him. Also you never lived in Walter P I imagine, and i am also sure where you went to school was a lot different than where he did

Saying "Stop acting white you sellout" when a black person works hard in school or talks without sounding ignorant is not "picking on someone because they are a nerd". I figured YOU of all people should understand that.

They are different sides of the same coin, terrible parenting, hatred of authority, lack of emotional intelligence, high crime/drug use, cares if others think they "look tough"

Police have a different view of criminals than civilians do. They have to deal with the worst of people on a daily basis, so I'm inclined to give them somewhat of a break. I mean just watch Cops or PD or some of those programs, and see what they have to deal with. It would be very easy to become jaded, and I can't blame them.

Mind boggling more people don't understand this.

Bull$hit. That's the worse excuse I've heard from you. You cannot say that with any kind of certainty. Why did those two mouth breathers bring guns to the confrontation in the first place? If there weren't any guns at the scene of that confrontation, then Arbery would still be alive.

This post is exactly is why people are discrediting you in this thread. You desperately want to defend the perps and throw shade on the victim.

I don’t defend them and have said I wouldn’t have done what they did either. All three in this incident made stupid decisions

You have no clue. Dude I went to Fulton and half of my family grew up in the projects some in the P. I grew up in those same areas your friend did. That is why I know he was just lame. I was always in "smart" classes. I was always known to be intelligent. I was never picked on for being smart or doing school work. No one was. Some people were picked on for being nerds. That was the same white or black. White kids pick on white "nerds."

Your friend is just a lame. Lames guys always makes excuses. Its always the girls like bad guys or they were picked on for trying to be educated. No you got picked on and didn't get girls because you are corny and probably not attractive.

Bad parenting isn't a poor or rich thing. Plenty of absentee married dad that are barely in their kids lives because they work all of the time. Parents on drugs, child abuse. Those are things that all incomes experience.

Drug use is similar among different incomes and races.

Lack of emotional intelligence? Yea all the drunk and pill popping housewives and cheating husbands and 30 year olds living at home with rich mom and dad are so emotionally intelligent. The

The want people to look tough part describes about 10% of either population. Not the population as a whole. Your conflation of everyone in those areas shows your classism.

Pretty sure I've been clear on my stance of their mishandling of the situation (if I had to be making a bet I'd put my money on a manslaughter plea to avoid possibly facing a felony murder trial, we'll see) but in answer to your question if they believed they were in fact following a criminal then it would be plausible to believe he could himself be armed.

Note me saying with no ambiguity that their justifiably being armed (hell, if they have permits, which I think you'd agree is likely given their past employment, their being armed "just because" passes legal muster) is in no way justification for how they went about "being" armed. (meaning specific actions taken in the context they were)

Wait, so is it the gun’s fault or were the McMichaels hellbent on hunting down a black guy for sport? How are you going to try to frame Arbery’s death as murder this time?

Classist? And racist huh? Any more tropes you want to throw out there? Lol. And I never said my friend didn’t get girls, you are super projecting some things here.

If your intent is to play the devil's advocate here, you're failing miserably. If you honestly believe that Arbery is at fault for fighting for his life during the commision of an aggravated assault felony against him, the failure is worse than the former.

Which is it?

I wouldn't try to grab somebody's gun.

I haven't read the whole thread and haven't seen the video, but does the dead guy have any kind of police record? I'm not asking this to justify the shooting, but just to understand if he was actually a jogger or casing the joint out.

He had a history of thefts and once was arrested for bringing a stolen gun into a high school basketball game
