The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

He had a history of thefts and once was arrested for bringing a stolen gun into a high school basketball game
Thanks. In the story that 05 linked, I believe it said that one of the suspects was involved in a case against him when the suspect was a cop. I wonder if he remembered the dead guy and gun from that?

You would if you thought it was your only option. Not saying it was right or a smart move, but in a life threatening situation, all bets are off.
I would not approach someone with a gun and try to grab it. I would try to talk the person down.

I think I would too, but again, we don’t know what the interaction was before the video started. My guess is threats were made and the jogger must have clearly thought there was no way out.

Still can’t believe they a) thought it was a good idea to use guns to corner a guy who wasn’t threatening them; and b) kept the video and thought it would help them.

I absolutely believe that. Ive believed that from the beginning. It wasn't race motivated, they are just white trash vigilantes.
@Behr you gonna be labeled a racis! I called them Billy Bob's (basically my name for dichead rednecks) and got absolutely bashed.

This is what ive been saying, but some think these two are racists who woke up one morning and said, look at that guy, let's go trap him and shoot him.

If Arbery had never physically attacked them and tried to grab his gun, he would've never been shot.
I don't believe that has been said in this forum other than by you. The only one to actually believe that is most likely KTK as can be evidenced by his more than racially divisive post history.

Edit: edited to add paper tiger. I think he may be of the hunting black folks mindset.

Poverty isn't culture. But by your takes I'm confident in saying you aren't a cultural expert.

I also call bull on your friend. If he got picked on it was because he was lame. Not educated or successful. Corny and lame black people who would be picked on regardless if they were black or white love to say that instead of admitting they were just geeks. I was a black kid who was in all honors and AP classes and all of that. I was known for being super smart since I was in elementary. I was never picked on for being a nerd. Some white kids in my same classes were. By white kids because they were "nerds."

Its hilarious that one of the most well known tropes, which countless movies, films, tv shows, books, and whatever popular media you want to name is the white kids picking on nerds. When a black kid is picked on for being a nerd racist use is to confirm their biases . When a million things about white nerds or dorks or geeks being bullied are about white kids its just kids being kids.

Inner city and the trailer park are not the same culture, Just the same economic struggle leading to some of the same problems. Culture is music, art, language, traditions. Different things buddy.
You must have done some bad drugs in HS then because the bolded doesn't shine through very clearly.

I'll spare the long story, but I've always said that if I caught someone in my house I'd blow their head off. I woke up to someone in my house and I ended up with my Colt 6" Anaconda .44 magnum loaded and cocked pushed up against the back of his head. I walked him out the front door and out of the Lanai.

It took me 3 days to stop shaking.

My point is when it comes down to a real life life or death situation, I don't think its a guarantee you'll do what you think you will.

It would take something really special for me to try to take on 2 armed guys when I am carrying nothing to fight with.

Classist? And racist huh? Any more tropes you want to throw out there? Lol. And I never said my friend didn’t get girls, you are super projecting some things here.

Tropes is a good point. The trope of picking on nerds isn't a black thing like you tried to make it. Your buddy is lame. I know several people from Walter P who went to college and no one picked on them. He was the issue. Not a cultural thing.

I think its possible if I'm a black guy being chased by these white guys with guns and I'm exhausted to the point I don't think I can run anymore, I might see an opportunity to try to take the shotgun away from the guy in front of the truck. Maybe he (guy with the shotgun) was looking up at the dude in the back of the truck or back at the car with the video camera. Idk, whatever happened he did get his hands on the guy .....before he was shot.

I don't know if the guys had been threatening him. Maybe they had threatened to kill him while chasing him with guns and trucks and cars. I'd like to think if it seems I'm about to be killed, which its very possible that's exactly what he was thinking, right up until he was killed, that I'd at least try to fight my way out if it.

But who knows.

If you are referring to me, I have never entertained the hunting black folks scenario. You need to think more clearly.

As more info comes out is there a single person who actually believes the families narrative that he was just a sweet young man who likes to jog?

Or can we all agree he was clearly looking for something to steal and took off running when confronted?

Once again, everyone’s first clue something was off should’ve been the high school senior pic the media was using for a man who’s closer to 30 than 20

You really believe the “he was just a jogger” narrative? Have you seen the videos of him in the house? Or the fact that he was 10 miles from home

I figure there is more to it than what we have been told so far. I doubt that the D.A. had much of a case, or he/she would have brought it.

He may have been a sweet young man, but I haven't bought the "avid jogger" story since seeing the initial video.

I don't have any idea if he was looking to steal. He was looking around an unfinished house for less than five minutes and didn't steal a thing. I see no reason that one should try to impugn his motives unless one is seeking to justify the McMichaels' actions.

Further, he was never confronted before taking off from the site. So no, we cannot all agree with your clearly false description of events.

I can still see a legit case for manslaughter. But the more I look at the details, idk if I could find them guilty. He 100% wasn’t just a jogger who was racially profiled by mean white guys like we were first told.
