The Numbers Thread

Stewart will not blue, he will surprise many at how quickly he rises... Unless we get Allen and Richmond, then he will go blue

Stewart, Bruce, Lovingood, Perry, and Oliver all would qualify for blue shirt I believe. There is some doubt on Bruce though if his last visit was an official. And I'm not claiming all of those do blue shirt just saying I believe those five qualify for it.

Thank. I guess we'll know Wednesday if they do or don't send in the LOI.

I believe we can only sign 22-23. We back counted four and forward counted two last year. Swafford counts against this class and apparently, RDAIV will, too. There seems to be confusion whether or not Henderson will count. We will grayshirt or blueshirt to get us to 28-30. Several grayshirts/blueshirts are already in play.

Up to 30, we seem to have a plan. Taking both Allen and Richmond will put us at 31. But that is a longshot. It's possible that with Sapp, we are done, especially if Boulware sticks, which is looking likely.

RDAIV will count against the 85, and not the class.

On another note, I saw Oliver has a visit scheduled to UT for this weekend. I wonder if it's an OV?

Swafford probably takes a spot likely so does the blueshirt from last year putting us at 23. I read RDA wouldn't count though and would not be on scholarship, he will be a graduate transfer. Henderson should not count but likely will because the NCAA are pieces of crap. The kid was cleared by clearinghouse but then they had to rereview his transcript and ruled him ineligible; should not count against our numbers since they screwed up. If Henderson does count against last year's class then we cannot backcount anyone so I would think the number is 23 initial qualifiers. I have heard for sure there will be multiple forward counting or blue shirts, no idea who all of those will be though.

I will ask on Oliver.

I know Perry, Stewart, Bruce and Lovingwood have not OVed and it has been very purposeful in that they've had unofficials only.

Seems to me that if Oliver can BS too that would make us be able to get to 29. 25-1 for Devaun and then +5 BS'.

Someone is either on the chopping block if we land Allen/Richmond or is about to get a last second GS request.

Bruce tweeted his was an OV.

Re: RDAIV, that's what I thought, too, but LWS said a while back that he would count against the 25 if he's on scholly. I haven't heard that he's walking on.

IDK much about Oliver. He's been quiet.

I don't think I've ever heard a transfer coming in counts against the 25 limit for the next class.

Taking 5 spots away from the 2016 class seems like an odd move to me If this supposed BS scenario plays out.

Not really, you are just taking the initial counter limit from next year away.

I think most of the roster flipping is done after this class and that the staff would like to get on the 20-25 kids per class train moving forward.

So let's say we move 5 IC's towards the 2016 class. That would leave us w/20 initial counters. We could always BS a few next year into the 2017 class making it around 23. And again the next year with one making it 24 and so on.

That way we organically level out our roster along the way while taking as much talent upfront as possible to flip the roster as quickly as possible.

Yes, Henderson is the difference between 22 and 23, with Swafford and last year's blueshirt bringing us to 25. Hubbs confirmed this. I thought RDAIV would be on scholly, but Butch can certainly work something out there. I think we'll take 29-30, unless somebody decommits voluntarily. And if we're fortunate enough to land both Allen and Richmond, we'll find a way.

This is what I think, too. We'll do what's needed to stack the roster this year, maybe sign 24-27 next year, then get back to signing a normal or smaller size class.

Saban oversigns almost every year and has rolled forward more than we have, and Bama's not rebuilding. If we forward count what we need this year, we'll settle up quickly, reaping greater rewards for minimal risk.

He is damn good. That's a crucial position to that can cost you football games. If a non Scholly snapped one over the quart backs head to win the game and we lost then yall would be wanting a good one on scholly

So he is an Offensive Center? You do realize a long snapper specializes in snapping the ball on punts, field goals, and PAT's.
