The Numbers Thread

I may have mis-spoke, sorry for the confusion. Should have said in there I don't want to see anybody leave. Your post is exactly how I feel, I was more pointing out that the people who want to take 25 means 8-9 (I am no LV on the numbers so not sure :) ) more players would have to leave.

By no means was my comment directed at you, more so the folks who have no issue in just "processing" as many as it takes to get to 25+. You are correct that as of today 9 scholarships would have to become available that are currently spoken for to take 25. Hopefully we start to see more kids being coached up and developed VS processing them.

Consistency in players, coaches and schemes.... I'll allow it, as long as we have room to keep them all. Trying to stay on topic in the numbers thread

I did get a bit of a chuckle out of the "Doug Mathews says we have 6 silent" discussion. No names, no dates they may commit, no other info except claiming "6". I would think it's a pretty safe bet. I mean over the next 6-7 months the chances of UT getting 6 more commitments is pretty good. :p

To misquote Waterboy. "maybe by keeping his predictions vague and general he hopes to keep people from seeing him as a fraud"

Maybe that is where I am making my mistake. I tend to just throw my opinion/predictions out there. If I am wrong, it's because I have absolutely no insider knowledge what so ever and I am guessing based on whatever recruiting site/message board/other teams sites info I can find to base said reasoning on. Vague has never been something I was very good at. :)

Looking at the SEC rankings for 2015 recruiting classes I noticed that the next to last SEC team Mizzou is ranked #30. Meanwhile you have Candy plugging along in last place in the SEC at #79.

Can't help but :).

If their recruiting ranking equaled their number of fans they would be sitting pretty.

The numbers crunch is coming for Butch:

I posted this in another thread a while back. Wanted to put it here so I can keep track of it. :)

Maybe a tad early 2016 class prediction.

QB-Austin Kendall
RB-Elijah Holyfield
RB/Slot-Dorian Banks
WR-AJ Morris
WR-Mecole Hardman
TE-Darel Middleton
OL-Ryan Johnson
OL-Bryce Mathews
OL-Taleni Suhren
OL-Landon Dickseron
DT-Michael Perry
DT-Shug Frazier
DE-Tariqious Tisdale
DE-Malik Walker
LB-Daniel Bituli
LB-Keion Joyner
LB-Austin Parker
CB-Donte Vaughn
CB-Bailey Phillips
S-Nigel Warrior

It does appear that about a half dozen of these kids visited UT today 6/16. It's coming together folks!

ok serious question about the numbers now, now that we have Bruce we are up to 13 commitments. That leaves 3 spots as it is right now. Who do you take? These are mine.

Mckenzie
Richmond
Settle/Tuttle/Jones

Yes yes I know we can have more spots open up but play along for now.

I believe the biggest need we have now has got to Tackles, OTs and DTs and its not even close.

I agree, if I only took 3 it would be McKenzie, Richmond, and Jones. IMO those would be the 3 who made the earliest impact.

The Shaw way of recruiting Mason is bringing over will be the downfall of Vandy. Know why Franky got decent recruits? He didn't care about academics and he was scummy and recruited dirty. A by the books stickler about academics will return Vandy to where they belong.

13 commitments currently and about 97 kids VN claims are all "sure takes for Tennessee no matter what".

Will be interesting to see it play out.

I'd love to know all 97 of them. If you wouldn't mind and who in VN believes they are all takes.. :hi:

I would be willing to bet there is only about 20 kids everyone would consider both likely and a "take".

Also I believe most people understand there is a max we will take for each position. Therefore as more slots of that position are filled the others that would fill that slot become less likely.
