Getting commits early is never a bad thing. Better to have them and then have to make hard decisions about numbers later than be scrambling for a full class in January, IMO.

I'm not sure if I'm right but I believe I remember Butch saying that they had 20 or 21spots to fill this class.

Good question. I learned last year that Butch can work numbers in magical ways so I don't bother worrying. I'm thinking it's more likely he tries to do a full 25. He tries to make it where kids graduate in 3-3.5 yrs so maybe that also works into possibly where kids recruited over can do the graduate transfer thing to open up spots. Someone like a blanc and Bowles are going to have hard time getting playing time moving forward.

We are going to turn some good talent away but it also helps get some stars to jump on quicker so you can focus on season and next two classes

I also remember him saying he would sign 30 to 31 players last year and we ended up signing 34. I think we'll sign 23 or 24 this year.

I will go out on a limb and say at least 3 kids who are committed now will not sign with us in February.

we are about 7 months away from signing day, so I would not worry too much about the numbers until then.

Bama has 20 commits and I doubt Saban is worried about numbers right now.

I think we have more recruiting ammunition now, Get on the Big Orange Train or get left behind.

Seemed to work fine for Texas for all those years. I'll allow it.

Also: better to have the option to change a full class at the end rather then be worrying about filling it.
