tear down every mosque in America and then be willing to let the ******* camel humprs rebuild one for every 5 churches we build in their rat infested countries.

Well, if we ever live in a country that enforces such crap, let's hope they'll enforce the firing squad for anyone with an IQ under 30 too.

Fox and AP backing off coverage of Quran burning. – The Mike Thomas Blog – Orlando Sentinel

I think, given the comments from the network, that they see this for what it is and are not going to cover it. Treat the thing as the publicity stunt it is.

On the other hand, given that some media will be there and it will be broadcast, I wonder if there is not some value to covering it and putting it into the perspective it deserves.

I think all in all this is the best approach because, if major networks or news organizations shun it, then perhaps that will let the next guy down the line know that you can't make your own news.

Sounded like you said they weren't going but now who was going to give it adequate coverage?

If it were only Fox doing this we know how you'd react. I can only assume your confusion surrounds the addition of AP.

not sure it matters if they cover it or not. it will be on youtube and will have 100,000 hits in minutes.

No, I said I think that they are doing the right thing overall.

Although it appears based on the internets that it is now a moot point ....

There is no right way for the media to handle this sort of thing. This is one of those rare times where it isn't the media manufacturing the story.

The fact that you go into every argument believing conservatives are racist...... oh wait......

So now this preacher is claiming he called off the Quran burning as part of a deal to move the NY mosque. Which is not true.

It is quite obvious this guy has done what so many religious leaders do, of all sorts of religions, which is to annoint himself some sort of religious or political leader, far above his actual station in life.

We've seen this movie so many times before.

They should treat it just like the MSM treated the Discovery killer or the Ft Hood Islamic murderer... run it no longer than absolutely necessary and obscure any motive that has to do with religion or politics... right?

NO. That is NOT how it should work... but we know it does when the MSM wants to protect its favorites.

So LG... what do you say about the absence of MSM coverage and hype concerning the death of Christian aid workers in Afghanistan? They were killed specifically because of their religion. Why doesn't that interest liberals?

Unfortunately it happens in politics alot too... Barack Obama makes an excellent parallel. The guy is completely unqualified with narcissistic tendencies. He has been pumped as a "messiah" by media icons like Oprah. His devotees are impervious to proofs of his failures and incompetence. He's an empty suit who is completely in over his head... but just keeps digging.

Sounds alot like this preacher to me.

your third thread about this preacher in as many days.

Other than your pathological hysteria is there any particular reason you're so fascinated by this story?

I hate Fox News. But it's good to see them taking the high ground on this one. It might not make a difference, but it's always good to show some principles.
