No. He gets beat on the dribble way too much. He will get better but I don’t think he will ever be as good as Turner, Bowden or Bone. Turner and bone weren’t good early on in their carter either

Maybe I will have to watch more closely. Pember and Plavsic I've watched get absolutely eviscerated over and over. Vescovi didn't stand out to me as glaring. I'll keep more of an eye out.

The International Space Station flies by Knoxville at 6:33 until 6:39. Rises in the SSW and sets in the ESE. Might be too cloudy to get a good look but a bright light might be visible. Peaks at 40 degrees. If it's visible you can see it very clearly with binoculars.

At times, Vescovi does play good D. It seems that at times he's a little deficient. I'll be there tomorrow night and have a better idea with him going against some good, quick Ole Miss guards.

Has anyone else noticed that Vescovi actually defends decently well?
Yes, he seems to be be fundamentally sound on defense but I could see him struggling with really athletic types when forced to guard them. I don't really have any for instances to point to but his lack of athleticism would almost have to make this true.

Plavsic would not play a second for me if I was head coach until he learned to move his feet on defense.

I’m not sure we aren’t the best

They really don’t have a good win. Lost at home to usce and are 3-4 in the Acc after losing tonight.

You might be right. They still play great defense though. It would be a toss up with UNC a distant 3rd

Now, rank them in terms of actual talent and repeat the phrase, "Rick Barnes is still a good coach..."

P.S. That isn't aimed at you in any way.

In terms of overall talent, I would go Virginia first, Tennessee last, and UNC sandwiched in the middle. I don't think UNC is without talent to the extent that Roy Williams tries to insist they are.

Zooming in on us specifically, I think CRB has done a nice job with this team to this point. Sure, there a couple of games that I wish we could have back, but that's basketball. It tickles me every time I see someone throw out the "Rick forgot how to coach" line or the "Rick got lucky with Grant and Admiral" line. Those will be the first people screaming "he's worth every penny!" when we're in the thick of the conference championship race next season.

Rick Barnes hasn't forgot how to coach, folks. He didn't just get lucky with a couple of guys. You don't win over 700 games if you can't coach or if you're just lucky. Whether or not you think he's worth the $5m we're paying him, be glad he's still here. We're fortunate to have a coach of his caliber.
