No. He gets beat on the dribble way too much. He will get better but I don’t think he will ever be as good as Turner, Bowden or Bone. Turner and bone weren’t good early on in their carter either
At times, Vescovi does play good D. It seems that at times he's a little deficient. I'll be there tomorrow night and have a better idea with him going against some good, quick Ole Miss guards.Maybe I will have to watch more closely. Pember and Plavsic I've watched get absolutely eviscerated over and over. Vescovi didn't stand out to me as glaring. I'll keep more of an eye out.
Yes, he seems to be be fundamentally sound on defense but I could see him struggling with really athletic types when forced to guard them. I don't really have any for instances to point to but his lack of athleticism would almost have to make this true.Has anyone else noticed that Vescovi actually defends decently well?
Now, rank them in terms of actual talent and repeat the phrase, "Rick Barnes is still a good coach..."
