One thing that could play into our favor with Fulk coming back is the potential lack of options overseas due to COVID. I’m not sure if all the Euro leagues have started back up, or if some of them may be struggling financially due to the pandemic but it definitely wouldn’t surprise me.

I don't think Fulk returning is outside the realm of possibility. The idea of consecutive FFs seems a bit blissful for a program with zero to their name, currently. Fulk making top-5 in scoring would take a herculean effort, as well, given he has only been relevant and/or healthy one year in four chances, so far.

If Fulky comes back, what does that do to avail. scholarships? Just one available?

FTR that's not been determined how it's going to be handled yet. There are lots of sports at all levels who have no idea what their recruiting budgets are going to be next year. It's likely they do as you say but it's not been determined yet.

I think he returns. He desperately needs to add some strength to his frame if he wants to play at the next level, and if he's not a prospect then why not come back. I bet Turner would have returned if he could have.

Maybe scholarship limitations won’t be determined until after it’s been decided whether the NCAA Tournament will happen or not. All sports and schools are facing a revenue crisis and adding scholarships before revenues have been calculated isn’t fiscally prudent. But if Fulmer was running the NCAA...

I’m sure they have issues individually with recruiting budgets, but that’s a school by school deal, not anything to do with blanket waiver on seniors.

The NCAA hasn't told schools how much they will have to give returning players that take advantage of the free year. Not every scholarship is a full ride in each sport, a lot of these guys are going to be allowed to return but there may not be scholarship money or may not be as much as they were getting. Like I said, you obviously have no idea what "recruiting budget" means. The NCAA hasn't released what the schools will be able to give those that select to return, schools expect to find that out Jan 2nd.

I'm aware of the differences. I could have worded it as scholarship allotment but coaches when speaking with them often refer to it as their budget. Regardless, the NCAA has not determined what those scholarships are going to be worth. Jan 2nd is the date I've been told that might happen.

This discussion took place in regards to Fulky & Tennessee, those budget issues aren’t something Tennessee is going to worry much about as they’ve already allowed athletes to return and take advantage of this rule...sure some smaller schools may have some issues but again, that wasn’t the basis of this discussion. You claimed that it hadn’t been determined that it would be allowed, that’s incorrect, determining financial budget/allotments maybe hasn’t been finalized, but allowing those guys to return has been decided on already.

Bottom line is that it will cost schools millions of dollars if the NCAA allows additional scholarships and revenues are shrinking significantly. And each school will want to do what the other schools are doing or else they be at a competitive disadvantage.

Wait...Turner & Bowden both could have returned, they each chose to enter the draft though.
