Actually there is finally leadership in the university and AD. We have finally have a President, Chancellor and AD all in one accord for the first time since the 90’s. Danny White is as forward thinking a leader in college Athletics today. I’m sorry a promise made by a desperate university made 37 years ago is getting broken, but maybe those people should just appreciate the 37 years of discounts they’ve been given.

Great leadership over there confessing to the NCAA while places like LSU are giving them the finger.

Great idea giving a couple of guys tens of millions of dollars after their mid-major success. What could possibly go wrong?

He was asking how it worked…does it pass on to your children, then their children? Stop with you when you die?

There are lots of deals. They are reneging on all of them. But most end with the principal’s passing and their spouse. Some might include one more generation… I think the TBA seat licenses might do that.

It’s a short sighted money grab. They’re banking on on field success to save the long term. Neyland might be half full for all but a game or two annually going forward. But hey. The lights and fahrworks gone be purty.

I mean same deal. Nobody who was promised anything back then was thinking the AD at the time was promising it. It was a promise from the school

I get it. It sucks. This is business in America. It was a bad deal by the school. Those people got to benefit for 35 years. If they signed a contract with the school, I’m sure Tennessee will legally do what they have to either buy them out or arrange a different offer. If there wasn’t no contract, then congrats to them for getting an amazing sweetheart deal for 35 years.

I heard this insanity. I know of somebody that has 6 of those chair back seats between the 20s in either S or T. UT wants $80,000/year from them if they want to be in similar seats after the west side, field level lounge is built. I hope that they decide to donate to Children’s Hospital instead.

It’s hilarious that you’re so mad about the leadership not being of integrity yet you constantly talk about how terrible and corrupt the NCAA is…so you’re mad that we fessed up for our violations? Don’t you always grill Pearl for lying? So we get out in front and now you’re mad? Seems hypocritical.

First off, if you think Danny White is a mid-major, then that’s your fault for being obtuse. The biggest reason UCF is getting a B12 invite is because of him. Also Buffalo is much better off because of him. It’s not his fault Fulmer’s dumb ass destroyed the football program and he had to get Heupel (who was 28-8 before he took the UT job BTW and is the most qualified candidate we’ve hired since Majors).

They’re reneging on promises made for the benefit of faculty member widows. Lying and cheating is a bad look for a public institution. Money grab.

It would be one thing if it all of the riches were being pumped back in to the university. Too much of it is enriching a handful of individuals.
In those cases I think they should continue to honor so long as the widow is alive and using the tickets. Though I think those situations are the exception. At least anecdotally the system has been abused.

I have 4 chair back seats in S, but I believe to stay it’s going to be $4800 per seat. I haven’t spoken to anyone at UT yet though mostly because at this point I’m not that interested in renewing at all regardless of where I sit

We are also going off on a report by Basilio that we aren’t 100% sure on the full details of yet regarding the basketball seats (and who TGO loves to disparage anyways any chance he gets) lol. Like I said I’m sure UT will find a way to legally do this the right way assuming what is being reported is true.

I’m not sure what you pay now but I’d at least give them a call if you’re interested in renewing. I work customer service and usually they’ll work something with you. If they can’t, be respectful but threaten to cancel and see what happens. You never know

That’s the case regardless if they keep winning 3-5 games a year.

Someone else will pay it, bye.

Is that where the new club level premium seating is going?

I don’t love to disparage Basilio. I give him more credit than many on VN and often defend him. How is repeating his words and stances disparaging him? He does his own act. I simply remind others what it was.

Something like rows 1-20/22 and sections R-W. Basically the area behind the TN bench. I haven’t seen the plans but I’d wager that much of the lounge area will be below the current seats. Maybe only a few rows of seats will disappear.

It’s been ZERO days since the Deacon has landed a top 50 commit. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Basilio.

I’m not a drive-by poster, but thanks for the lesson. Did you know that Barnes has had half of the 4 SECT finals appearances in the 41 tournaments since Devoe won 2 games versus Auburn and UK in a 10 team SEC to win with the double-by in 1979?

TN sports really doesn’t need you, Basilio, or the idiot Cooper brothers stirring up **** at every turn either.

Hopefully with this much talent the personalities can be expertly managed by the staff and the players gel on the court and get along great off of the court. UT history making is there for the taking and it takes a great coach to get this kind of assemblage of talent to play as a united team rather than a collection of individuals. Despite Basilio and his clowns pushing the narrative that CRB cannot get along with some players and has failed repeatedly with the evaluations, the Walker situation is becoming somewhat clearer IMO.

He was in consecutive SEC Tournament finals. I bet you can’t name any other TN coach that has done that.

He has been to 3 Elite Eights in the last 18 NCAA Tournaments. TN has been to one in its entire history.

He has signed 4 of the 6 highest rated recruits EVER at TN in the last 2 cycles.

You Basilio sheep bring a miserable narrative of whining to any TN conversation. It’s really quite pathetic.

Sounds like disparaging too me and that took me 60 seconds lol.

I’m not a Basilio fan and he could be right but I think maybe we should have something a little more concrete before we got off on Danny White ruining the AD

The NCAA has been neutered. UT leadership confessed to Pruitt crimes which are now legal and well after LSU was caught red-handed with better evidence yet they are telling the NCAATS to kick rocks.

Heupel didn’t build the program. Scott Frost did. CJH has lost more games each year as a HC than the year before. I’m not blown away by the lazy hire.

The last one is directed at his mindless flock and they all pretty much simply repeat Basilio’s own narrative.

We get it. You’re a Danny White Fan Boy.

It might be that price to remain in the area. I’m guessing that the $80k is to remain inside of an area behind a railing like those right in front of the walkway that runs from R to W around row 20. There are likely going to be far fewer of those areas inside a barrier.

Yeah and we will see how that ends for LSU, I remember when USC did the same and they paid for it.

Frost was there what 2 years? Yeah Scott did a nice job. Heupel still won 28/36 games, still has the best resume of anyone we’ve hired since Majors. If you think that hire is lazy or that Danny White was lazy making that hire, you’re more out of touch than I realize.

Well that would explain the $4,800…it’s not to keep @golfballs seats its to upgrade to premium lounge

Oh I absolutely am. I am fan boys of consensus top 10 AD’s on a national level that work for my favorite school. Dude is legit. Not my fault you can’t see it because you’re crying that there’s no leadership because he’s making some of the old people mad and is doing things his way instead of listening to the old money that got us in this mess in the first place.

Heupel had been a head coach for 3 years. His opponents had rosters full of 2-star players.

You are ignoring recruiting when suggesting that Heupel is the best hire since Majors. Phil was pulling in the talent and that is the most important factor so I’m not even sold on the resume angle. Phil also managed to keep his players living the thug life eligible. I don’t know if the fast paced offense will fly in the SEC. Maybe the best to hope for is 9-3 or even 10-2 if CJH can lure a top QB. Right now he has 3 backups competing for the starting job.

I’ll jump on board the Heupel band wagon if he can give me anything this year. Tomorrow is the next opportunity. He had a chance versus Pitt but couldn't overcome the key injuries. I’ll be close to buying in if he can take care of business with UK, VU, USC, MZ, and the buy games. 8-4 will buy a ton of hopeium for me. 9-3 and I’ll whip out the checkbook. 6-6 doesn’t do it for me. Better hold serve in the conference and take Pitt in 2022 if 2021 ends up 6-6.

The family’s of the “old people” are the fan base. He can piss them off, get fired, and collect $8,000,000. It’s a no-brainer and nothing profound. Those families are loyal to UT. Danny White is a short timer at UT.

Phil was still an OC and never been a HC before (minus the interim games). You can try and argue all you want about Phil’s credentials pre-1993 but Heupel’s 28-8 in the best non P5 conference for football>anything Phil did as OC.

So wait, if Heupel wins as many conference games as Pruitt yet lost 20+ players to the transfer portal and took over less than a week before signing day while under NCAA investigation that isn’t going to do it for you? Yeah okay.
