Haven't been back to a game @ TBA since I graduated in 2011. Looking around for tickets to the Vandy game Feb 17th. What's the best section to look for a decent seat maybe under $100?
Prior to last game he was damn near 40% from 3, I’m not letting 1 cold shooting night (I’m probably the most hostile crowd he’s ever seen) form my stance/opinion on him. Do I think his shot selection could be better, absolutely, but Santi could help him out a bit by showing some aggression, someone has to take shots.IIRC, Bailey started out shooting much better than he digressed during his time here? Here’s to hoping Gainey doesn’t.
Sure…except for the fact that Gainey is shooting much better than Bailey?

The conversation was about their 3pt shot, which even with his 1/9 last game Gainey is currently better at…if he stays at sub 33% all year long we can have this conversation, but right now that doesn’t seem too likely to me.That's not a fact at all, unless you're talking ONLY Bailey's last season and ONLY his 3 PT%
Bailey was 38.5% FG, 49.3% 2PT, 30.4% 3PT (21.8% his last season here drug this down, was 33.8% his Junior year)
Gainey as of now, 35.9% FG, 40.6% 2PT, 32.6% 3PT
He's a better player on the court than Bailey here though because unlike Bailey Gainey puts in work outside just shooting.
He's 2nd on the team right now with 10 steals (Bailey had 25 total in his 2 years here). Gainey is also 4th in assist on the team currently and despite playing the 4th most minutes so far he's got less fouls than Santi, JJJ, and Mashack (making it easier to keep him on the court).
Gainey is better than Bailey (especially the Senior season version we got), but he's not proven to be a better shooter just yet at least not at this level.
This is a great point. Three guys that we know can make shots and they are not while still shooting high volume. This is a big problem right now.Agreed. I said this in the game thread, too. He isn’t at USC Upstate anymore. Considering that we aren’t rebounding well, we can’t afford to have a bunch of empty possessions and he was letting it fly last night from behind the arc when it wasn’t going well.
I hope he is just in a slump, but we need efficiency out of him right now, particularly with Santi and Zieglar struggling to be as dynamic on offense as they were last year. If all 3 of those guys are struggling in a night, we’re going to be hard pressed to win that game.
Any injury updates for tomorrow tonight yet?
Hopefully the team is ready to go, George Mason isn't a cupcake by any stretch. Really would like to go into SEC play with 10 wins under the belt
For what it's worth, Basilio said Knecht likely day to day so probably take that as he won't play tomorrow and likely back against Illinois. Awaka back tomorrow per him.
Yeah, I know some folks will argue this but this team even without Knecht should be able to beat George Mason and even Illinois.
Will need JJJ, Santi, Gainey, & Mashack to step up their offensive production while DK is out, but I agree with Mookie that we need him to focus on getting back to 100% before league play.
Awaka returning would be a big help, but I think JP/Cade have both played well when given opportunities.
I would agree with beating GMU, but I think Illinois is pretty dang good. Currently #16 on KenPom. We might actually need Knecht for that game to win. One of the toughest games left on our schedule technically.
