People said the same thing about us with Butch Jones. Not everyone, but we hadn’t been relevant for some time and nationally, Tennessee was an afterthought.

They think they are a tradition-rich program, and I agree with that assessment. I get why they made the move after several years of middling results.

They had a good seven year run in the 90’s when every other SEC team sucked at basketball besides Kentucky. They then fired that guy and haven’t been relevant in 20 years. They’re like the 8th-9th best job in the SEC

Shoot, they’ve been to several Final Fours. And they existed prior to joining the SEC.

Like UT football fans, they probably don’t peg themselves as low as what the national or regional perspective has become because of a prolonged slump . And shame on any AD that reasons that one of his or her programs should be happy with mediocrity, because that’s their place in the world.

Florida and Mississippi State both went to a Final 4 in the 90's.

I know the family of the Athletic Director at Buffalo. He has been on the job for a year, and I think it will be his first big hire.

So Florida loses Allen, Hayes and Hudson to graduation and then Stone, Ballard and Okauru to graduation...so 6 of their top 10, I know they’ve got a nice class coming in but that’s a lot of new faces.
