There has to be more to the story. Only thing I’ve seen is mavs were worried about Luka’s conditioning, which is such a small thing to trade a 25 year old megastar who just took you to the finals as a 5 seed. Plus there had to have been a way to get a better offer than AD and a 2029 first. BizarreThis is wild. Surface level it makes absolutely zero sense.

The Thunder would have given the Mavs 5 first round picks and JDub.
The Mavs absolutely could have gotten a better haul if Luka was legit on the open market.
So all it can mean is that there is more to this that we may never know. Some weird combination of factors.
Hopefully this game serves as a touchstone for our team and coaches to realize we don't have to keep launching 3's when they aren't falling (and we simply aren't a good 3 pt shooting team)...wait for it, we can create offense in the paint and attack the basket. This team was standing around too much on offense - move the ball and move without the ball...shot fake and drive (lookin' at you Chaz).Funny that we lost to them by 30 and then a few weeks later beat them by 20 while down 2/3 best players. You don’t see that often.
ZZ and Igor being out likely blew up their entire game plan and film study, so in a weird way, it gave us an advantage. Our offense was forced to play like a Calipari dribble-drive offense.

Abolish the Quadrant System (And Use Win Quality Instead)

Adam has mismanaged the league in such a way that many former fans stopped watching years ago (I am one)...the issues are numerous. This is a classic NBA ratings are down and somebody has to sacrifice them a superstar deal. Nothing to see here just move along. James has wound down so this will fix the lakers for another few years.
I can't watch it anymore. I tried to watch Knecht a little early in the season. It's awful. I couldn't sit around and wait for him to come back in the game when he subbed out. I would turn the channel and never get back.Adam has mismanaged the league in such a way that many former fans stopped watching years ago (I am one)...the issues are numerous.
I mean, ratings for the year are only down 3%, ratings don't include many streaming options which the antiquated ratings system doesn't include and which the NBA has pushed into, and in-person attendance is at or near all time highs. NBA highlights consistently generate massive views on social media platforms. I'm not convinced the NBA is in a big declineThis is a classic NBA ratings are down and somebody has to sacrifice them a superstar deal. Nothing to see here just move along. The things I’ve read say ratings are down double digits. They were down 4% just on Christmas Day. You know there is some decline when Silver is floating the idea of 10 minute quarters to shorten the game. I’ve been to several Grizzlies games this year, and the length has gotten a little out of control with the reviews. One game, they reviewed for flagrants on two close-outs on shooters. Kind of ridiculous.I mean, ratings for the year are only down 3%, ratings don't include many streaming options which the antiquated ratings system doesn't include and which the NBA has pushed into, and in-person attendance is at or near all time highs. The best is when they come out of halftime, one team scores 2 points and a timeout is called…. not even 1 minute has come off the clockThe things I’ve read say ratings are down double digits. Lol...I get it...I was a big fan - followed multiple teams so I watched games all the time so I was really invested in certain players. I used to really like Lebron in the early days but then he brought us the super teams, load mgmt, flopping and whining to refs who were already calling it in favor of his teams most of the time. All this while too many players and coaches were always real quick to p*ss off over half the country with their political statements until someone would ask about real human rights violations especially in communist China (lookin' at you lil' Steve Kerr) and, boy, did they shut up and dribble in those rare moments...I mean, who could have possibly known that trashing your country for years and literally biting the hand that feeds would have consequences.I can't watch it anymore.
