Yeah, when I saw that schedule-- they haven't been home since Colorado. I'll take that excuse. Both teams were throwing bricks, but they were taller.

Good coaches don't allow their players to settle for threes over and over when the shots aren't falling. One of the first things Phil Jackson did when he got to the Lakers was make them stop shooting threes when they weren't hitting them. It's pretty basic.

They couldn't rebound either-- one shot inside and you lose the ball.

Barnes failed this team as much as the players did. Cant really blame the players. If Barnes is going to set there and let them fire up 3 after 3 and say nothing then they are going to keep doing it. There are no set plays or high ball and screens. Its just come down and throw up 3s

Hopefully he is just trying to let the guys figure it out themselves on the court and get over the shooting woes early in the season as opposed to protecting them and having to deal with it later....but yes, very concerning! I hope there would be adjustments had this been a tourney game

I'm not going to blame Barnes' too much because we actually had so many clean looks and you'd think that eventually we'd hit a few because analytics say you should, but I do place some amount of blame on him for failing to adapt and make adjustments as the game went on. He did this team no favors tonight.

Sometimes I think Barnes is willing to teach through letting a team or players do it “their way.”

“Men we can’t win shooting 40 3s a game.”

Carries more weight when you can add “…remember what we did in MSG against TTU playing that way?”

It keeps playing itself over and over again. We can't make shots against good opponents. At some point it becomes obvious that it's something in our offensive system. The biggest factor is lack of offense in the post and extremely cold shooting. Barnes needs to figure this out.

Unfortunately, It hasn't been just one game. I'm still hopeful we can have a good season. But the complaint with Barnes even going back to when he was at Texas was his gamely coaching and inability to perform in the tourney. We've underachieved in every NCAA tourney we've made it to. But like I said, I'm hopeful that if BHH is developed that will take some stress off of our shooting and give us another scoring option. Chandler doesn't have anyone reliable in the paint to pass it to right now.

I choose to be haunted by that Chandler “charge” that negated a three point play and put him on the bench with two fouls early.

It was one bad call but not the reason we lost. Vols lose regardless. We played horrible and it sucks as a fan. But the kids will be home n few hrs or so and they won’t remember it.
Uros lives as the Uptown Bar on the strip three nights week til 3am.

It wasn’t one call. It was many. We played bad, but the bad officiating isn’t mutually exclusive.

This TTU was a brand new identity to last year’s squad. New coach & a ton of new players via the portal. Now that we’ve seen it, we’d kill em in a rematch.

What’s really annoying.

Equal in made FGs, we hit more 3s but they won with FTs.

10 more fouls on us, and ZZ, James, Santi & KC all had 4 fouls.

Bad officiating changed this game as much as poor shooting.
