The game changed when Vescovi got in foul trouble. I know he has a lot of haters but we need him on the court. Especially with Chandler out.Alabama was shooting horribly and playing very badly overall. We were killing them on the boards, which is huge. They hung around because our offense was mostly centered around Uros getting fouled after rebounds. I.E we had no offense. Once they made a couple of shots and got it from 6 to 1 we were done because we can't score with any pressure late in games.
No worries, Bailey still has one more year of eligibility. We’re goodThe most sobering thing to me about this loss is that what we saw tonight is a preview of what we'll see next year, since Chandler's gone and Fulkerson's all outta eligibility. And maybe Vescovi goes pro or heads on to his next opportunity as well. Goodness. I mean, there's certainly a lot of talent on the roster regardless, but goodness anyway.
8 points and 2 rebounds in spot duty in the first half not too shabbyThe SEC schedule is coming up and we will see the. 7-9 players who w get the majority of minutes in those games. He is doing what a smart coach does, make players ear
N their time and let those who need to improve work on their game. I think BHH will start getting more minutes when he has shown he is ready for them.
I remember the days when Tennessee being ranked in men's college basketball was the stuff of dreams. I think we have a lot to be proud of. If Fulky and Chandler had played we'd have won by 10 or more.
As if COVID-era sports aren't bad enough inherently coming from an asterisks for dollars angle. We have to endure the worst, most subjective officiating in sports week after week. This week to appease the Alabama basketball fans(all 12 of them) on the week Disney and co. pretend Saban and Alabama aren't going to walk to another title. But yeah, the standings will react accordingly, clearly ESPN will react accordingly to this incredible Alabama win, what's the point then?By the time march rolls around, I would expect it to be less of a big deal
Btw, Uros getting a lot of hate, but he finished a team high +5. Only UT player to have a positive plus minus who played more than a few minutes.
ON on the other hand exhausts me. He hit the big shot late, but he took 17 shots and only managed 15 points!! And one time he had a rebound right in front of him and basically acted like he wasn’t allowed to tough it until an Alabama player scoops it and scores. That’s possibly the difference right there
Because look at his career coaching record. That’s what he has always done. He’s going to win a few big games, lose several he shouldn’t , probably get in the tourney but rarely get past the first weekendWhy do I feel this is the ceiling with Barnes? It just hit me following this game...we will never win anything substantial, but we won't really suck either
When he(Oates) got in the officials ear during that timeout, the next 4-5 whistles went against TN, while CRB waited until 14.1 seconds left. Also, Quinerly was on the floor with 3 fouls for a long time and we never attempted to go at him. I was puzzled why we didn't challenge him more. Either way, we let one get away while playing with 'house money'.Oates changed the game by ragging on that official. Refs were very inconsistent
