The Official #18 Tennessee vs. #1 Georgia Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, CBS

Ultimately, it's not Milton's job to run Heuple's offense, It's Heupel's JOB to install an offense that works with Milton and his skill set and the rest of our offensive talent. That's what coaches are supposed to do. You adjust to your talent--not the other way around.
But Milton is a door-stop.

Had Milton thrown an INT in the end zone where GA had about 6 defenders, would that have helped?

Had he thrown short of the goal and not have scored and time ran out, would that have helped?

He had no clear open man and threw it out of bounds in time for a FG.

Is 3 better than 0?
He took a 3 step drop and threw it in the stands. That's all im saying. He didn't look for an opening. Ran 3 seconds off the clock with that play.

Can you explain that pass into the crowd to end the half? Heupel install that?
They had already planned to settle for a field goal so they had to run the play to take more time off the clock. Didn’t want to chance an interception so he just threw it into back of end zone. That way after the field goal try the clock would be at zero

Honestly just looked like a normal pass from Milton. Not really sure our coaches were thinking that far ahead

That’s just stupid football, if true.

UNLESS Heupel thinks Gaston, Navy, and Nico are actually not as good or not as ready.

That may be proven wrong but on the bench is Arch Manning at TX. Beck couldn't beat out Bennett (and think about that.) Ewers sat at Ohio State before going to TX.

You're assuming Nico is ready based upon nothing. Joe may very well be the best we have.

Recall that JG sucked but Bailey and Maurer never panned out even at much lower tier schools.
Yes, I’m assuming Heupel is wrong in his decision. Clearly, he was wrong naming Milton the starter over Hooker. ANYONE who watched the first couple series when Hooker came in could see he had a much better command of Heupel’s offense. Unfortunately, I think the same is in play now. Milton performs at a high level in practice but is consistently inconsistent in big games. He has the physical traits like a JaMarcus Russell but NOT the intangibles, like a JaMarcus Russell. Honestly, I think we are better right now with Heupel’s QB2 or 3. He just might be wrong again, I think he is. He has nothing to lose at this point.

There were 6 guys, at least, standing on the goal line for GA at the snap.

Throwing short of the line would've let time expire with no points.

Throwing the "Hail Mary" into at least 6 defenders is a low percentage play, at best, which again runs all the time off the clock or gets intercepted.

Throwing a bullet into the stands left 4 secs on the clock and enabled 3 points.

I'm not sure if Heupel thought they might break out of the goal line or something but IMO they could've just kicked the FG and not even thrown deep. It wasn't going to work except as a "7 points or nothing" and the odds were heavily in favor of nothing.

3 is just better than 0.

I’m beginning to wonder if Nico is what he was sold to be. Either Nico isn’t that good or The Hype is just too loyal, to stubborn or hell IDK but I don’t know many coaches that would keep the better QB on the sideline.

Seen it happen before. Joe borrough was 3rd string at Ohio State. Justin Fields was 2nd string. Bo Nix benched at Auburn. Hype did it here, Milton before Hooker until an injury forced replacing him.

You never know how a kid is going to react until the lights come on and it’s game time. May be great, may be bad. No one knows until that point. We have seen enough of Milton to know how he does under pressure, Only thing coach has to lose now is credibility

And I pointed out good QBs who didn't start, couldn't start, weren't ready to start.

Heupel might be wrong but his resume isn't just starting Milton over Hooker. He's done pretty well previously with QBs. You're taking the "outlier" from his coaching resume as the norm.

It’s beginning to look like what he started with is better than he’s brought in.

I was thinking the same thing. Pruitt brought in Hooker, Hyatt, Wright, Tillman, Mays, ,Keeton. Who do we have playing that is contributing much that Hype has brought in? Samson is doing good I hope the players we have on the bench are actually better than the starters. If not, we will be in for more lean years.

Terry Bradshaw was backup to Phil Robertson

It was a stupid play call. When we lined up with four going out and they had six in the endzone. What is the point of even trying a throw in the endzone ? We don't have a play maker that can go up over people and make a play.
