Not this take, your take, I can get behind, but many people here think the Vols are actually good. They're better than they during the historic period you referenced. After the sh*tshow the last 2 coaches were, I'm just happy to be playing meaningful games in mid October and consistently being ranked year round. Not every game is going to be 40+ points by the offense. We get blown out with the defense we had last year. A win is a win. You can complain all you want, I'm going to enjoy it.
No I get it but you have to admit we were very lucky to win. A&Ms center was awful for one and Johnson made a lot of bad throws as well. You must not recall true SEC football. Sometimes sh1t just happens. Offense sells tickets Defense win you championships. That still rings true today. It is a nice thing the defense can dominate a game
Georgia has had top recruiting classes for thirty plus years. That’s due to the talent in Georgia, and their immediate recruiting area. For the last few years their recruiting has jumped up further because they are competing for, and winning national championships. They are not recruiting better because of “how they treat their third string offensive line”. It’s not hard to recruit at Georgia. It’s even easier when you’re winning everything. Not this take, your take, I can get behind, but many people here think the Vols are actually good. I think with the awesome home field advantage the Vols can give most teams a run for their money or win. Look at the current win streak at home. Is it the longest in the NCAA right now? Maybe UGA has a better home field advantage, but I'm not even sure of that because Neyland seems louder.
I like the vols or I wouldn't be here, but many people here don't understand football. They reflexively hate UGA which is stupid imo. Imagine UGA refusing to play the Vols. That would be worse for the Vols than UGA. UGA is a great measuring stick, but people reflexively hate them.
I would suggest to any fan of any top SEC team to go watch a youtube video about their new facility. It's top 3 in the country. How they attract and treat their O-line, D-line and how they treat second and third string in both of those. It's impressive and not just luck or "money" as many here want to believe. It's a concerted effort that is literally documented on the internet. Same for LSU, Seminoles, and a few other schools who have really invested in their program facilities and how they recruit.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, but you game the most objective and intelligent response with out being insulting so thank you for that.
Quickly resorting to insults is a sign of a low IQ. Is that an issue for you. I'm asking you a question, not accusing you of that. Our place in the SEC east is completely irrelevant at this point in the season. Good grief you are a miserable person
Lordy, what a bad take. Texas A&M is the 4th most talented team in college football. They lost to Alabama by 6 last week. We beat them by 7, by absolutely running it down their throats and playing great defense. No one had ran on them like us this season. We ran for 232 yards vs what is probably the most stacked DL in college football. Their run D was #1 in the SEC and 7th in all of P5 coming into this game.Their offense was terrible so what's so great about vol defense today. AM couldn't get out of it's own way, so they were going to be low yardage and sackable.
Vols don't pass the eye test of being ranked in top 25 anymore.
Man I grow weary of folks who blast anyone that even hints at a moral victory BUT want to feature moral losses. Let’s all report facts and leave prognostications of victory or loss till after the fact. Plenty of blame to go around with our offensive woes today. Joe OWNS the INT, but play calling, penalties and officials own a bunch of our failed drives. 9 owes him a TD and the momentum it would have brought for sure. And our offense is capable of losing to anyone on our schedule.
