Speaking of CZ's (75 in particular) anyone have one? I've heard great things about them.

Good solid pistol. Finding magazines, holsters and spare parts can be kind of an issue. But a reliable and accurate pistol. The accuracy is inherent to the design with the rails on the outside compared to the inside of the slide like most modern DA pistols. Has your traditional weighty double action trigger pull, but the single action is good to go.

If I wasn't invested so much in Sigs and 1911s, I'd probably dump a bunch into CZ75s.

What would y'all recommend for my first "real" gun. Since I'm wanting to go into law enforcement I feel I need to get comfortable with em and I think any man should know how to use a gun. So what do y'all recommend?

A Ruger 22 of some sort. Either a 10/22 rifle or a SR22 pistol or Mark III pistol.

Good recommendation here. 22s are the perfect caliber to learn shooting technique on. Low recoil, cheap ammunition and extremely accurate.

So you know where there's lots of cheap .22? I haven't personally seen a box on a shelf in a LONG time.

Find someone who has a few who will let you try them, or a range that will rent, and see which feels best for you if your looking for a gun for utility. If you're just wanting to learn to shoot and get time practicing. Get a Colt Cadet in .22LR or similar....and practice practice practice.. One of the best little training pistols out there, and still usually dirt cheap when you can find em.

I recommend you get one "real gun" and one "plinker" for practice. .22 is for learning technique while not breaking the bank, and then shoot your main handgun as much as you can afford. But if you just get the 9 40 45 etc you may find money stops you from practicing as much as you should.

For best value the Sig pro line, and the Glocks are hard to beat. The above recall is all I have to say about some others, but there's a lot of other good brands CZ's are an excellent value. I have preferred Sig Sauer which is still my GTG. Sigs can be pricey, but the Sig pro line is very affordable, and are excellent even if Sig purist hold their nose up at the plastic, but there is nothing wrong with Glock either just depends on what feels better for you. They're both tough as hell. More and more now I prefer my classic Govt Colt 1911 , once you get used to making shots count, love the pull and the feel and it's scarily accurate, but that's just me. It's a feel thing, and the only way to find what feels good to you is to go shooting, don't listen to a bunch of people telling you what is best in a forum....find what you like.
