The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Best I'm finding is .45 to .50 per round. Still way to high. Are you finding it any cheaper? If so where?

I'm just happy to find it. I saw some 5.56 heavier weight 62g hollows and just about freaked. Just sitting on the shelf.....snatched em up. For awhile there I wondered if I would see anything but cheap 55 grain plinking ammo again. Come on 75g!!! Let me see you on shelves again!

Hard to come by, I'm just thankful I came into a good stock back in October 11. Picked up 5,000 rounds Federal 55grain FMJ for about 16 cents per. Haven't shot any of my Hornady 75 grn hp in over a year.

.40 cents and up is outrageous but guess we're going to have to get used to it.

Have a 1:7 twist on my rifle, it really likes the heavier stuff.....and that has become pricey.....

1:7 is becoming more and more common even in "civilian" garb. IIRC 1:12 was the original military twist until M855 came along which brought about the faster turn rate. Personally I like 1:7 for everything. (though I don't shoot any of the really light bullets)

Anyway all barrels have their own favorites. Some slower twist barrels shoot heavier bullets surprisingly well while some 1:7's will shoot bugholes with bullets even under 55gr. Of course, a lot of that can just be the bullet in question. Often bullets of the same weight but different makers shoot very differently.

Keep an eye on SGAmmo. They have the heavier stuff in stock and at really good prices. I.E. still expensive, but under other dealers.

That may be but I found that my Sig rifle generally does better with tighter groups with 68-75g (haven't tried the 77) It will do well enough with 55g too but not as tight. Course depends on maker as well...got some crap 75g once that was worse then plinking 55g I use.

Old picture of my Sig 556....Use a Magpul AFG now instead of Troy grip, and diff red dot.

Anyone have the Smith and Wesson MP 15-22? Looks like cheap fun

I know Colion Noir had a video up shooting it. It does indeed look like a hell of a lot of fun. I think I might get the wife one when we come back to the States. Speaking of which, I wanna get my FFL when we get back so I can build something that looks like this: (*see image below*)

Yea
Everything else seems to be coming back
I see guys lined up every Saturday at Wally World to buy their 3 boxes

And then a lot of the D bags end up selling it at gun shows at twice the profit. Back earlier this year, they didn't even have the shame to take the Wal Mart price stickers off.

At least one that's in their every weekend owns a pawn shop

I have been thinking of picking up a Walther PPS. I currently carry a Glock 26 or a 17 weather dependant. Wondering if anyone has a take on them. They are VERY slim.

PPS | Walther Arms

They are a little more bulky on the top than a Glock height wise. But with close to the same amount of bore axis for the firing pin.

It conceals about like a Shield with a little better trigger. But overall, not a bad pistol.

Do you know if they are a true Walther product, or a Smith & Wesson? I know Smith bought Walther a while back.

Import wise, I'm not sure if it's 922r compliant...so chances are it's produced here in the US. Or the parts are imported and assembled here by Smith.

Design is all Walther though as far as I know.

For the most part, folks like them more than the Shield and the latest Kahrs. Kahr's triggers have sucked for a while and their budget line CW series is horrid. Shield has a horrid trigger and that recall has me concerned about QC.

If I was to pick another CCW, I'd take a hard look at a PPS
