The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Something tells me you lack conviction if you are even debating on either when you should just be buying both.

Not sure if you are dedicated to the cause or not :)

Haha it isn't a matter of if I'm going to get both, but mainly the order in which I do so.

Anyone looking to let go of a beretta nano or colt junior 9mm? Looking around on the net but would like to find a used one. Thanks for any info

Yeah, I mentioned it in the original post.

Price wise and ease of maintenance, the EOTech 512 and PRO are about equal. Actually the PRO might come out ahead when your factor in battery costs over the long term.

gonna pick up the EOTech 512 tomorrow at Academy
got a gift card for Christmas and they have a $60 dollar rebate..
So will be all in for $305

What do you recommend for a .45 CCW?

I've got my eye on the H&K USP Compact .45 ACP

My everyday carry gun is a 1911 but I have the USP in both .45 and 9mm. It's a really nice gun.

Can't go wrong with a Glock either.

No matter how many times they put the word "compact" into the USP name, that thing is anything but compact lol.

If you are looking towards the H&K type, take a look at the HK45C. Next generation over the USP and has the replacement grips.

That's a great deal. And I think you won't go wrong with your choice.

Good deal! I enjoy my eotech that I have on my AR. I'd really like to get an Acog at some point tho.

I'm not an advanced shooter, which I've read is recommended to carry a 1911

Yeah, not real compact, but that's not a primary concern because it definitely won't be an everyday carry.

I haven't shot the HK45C, I'll have to try to find one to shoot.

I wish ACOG didn't charge a whole rifle's cost to have one though. I understand the cost of optics but when you can drop a 1k+ (depending on model) on a 3x scope it just makes me twitchy.

1911s are one of those pistols that you either love or hate. There is no middle ground and really no specific training you need over and above a normal pistol save carrying with a safety on.

The commander sized pistols are pretty decent when it comes down to it. The compact versions with the 3 inch barrels are a handful though with the recoil and whatnot. Try before you buy and all.

Has anyone bought or used a wall safe for rifles/shotguns? Thoughts? Obviously it would only hold 2-3 guns tops, but I only have a shotgun and a .22 LR and no plans to purchase more at this time.

There really aren't any advanced skilled needed to fire a 1911. Like any gun, you should shoot it enough to operate it by muscle memory.

If you're looking for simplicity, you can't beat a Glock.

Just from an aspect of becoming comfortable with the safety

You can get a decent 10 gun safe for about a hundred bucks. Does the job.

My dad's got one and lay year his house broken into. they tried to open it but it held strong.
