Had an FR8 aka the frankinmouser, once. Really cool gun.A local shop is having an "at-cost" sale on Tuesday, and (provided I can drag myself outta bed early enough to get there at opening) they have a No5 MkI BSA Enfield and a Spanish FR8.
Both are neat little pieces of history, but if I had yo pick one it'd be the FR8...I have several Enfields already, and a bolt gun in the more modern 7.62x51 would be dandy.
It’s a really cool story how that gun came about

We have a S&W .380 Shield EZ. Love it. Keep one mag in Blazer FMJ 95 gr., for plinking and target shooting. Other mag with NovX Extreme Engagment Flute 56gr for SD. Not a fan of all the "palm" guns regardless of caliber. Horrible to shoot. Would not practice with one. But, the SW Shield Ez 380 is larger, quite a bit actually verses pocket .380's, and is a joy to shoot. Never had a .380. Mostly was a 9mm and .357 shooting .38's guy. And then strictly a Baretta 92 guy. This .380 is my first non-92FS variant.
Doesn't do anything much cheaper and better guns do. I've handled and shot a friend's. Not overly impressed considering the price tag.We have a S&W .380 Shield EZ. Love it. However, if I had $3K give or take lying around for no good reason, I'd be easily convinced to look at a Staccata.
All true. In the end, I'd prob go back to a Model 92 variant, of Beretta origins. Best gun for the money IMO in the "premium" category. Completely accurate, and great to shoot, and solidly reliable. I'd probably get the "C" model. Not decisivley smaller than the FS or M!, but better suited for my hands and shoots just the same. Back in the day, before the big Taurus decline, they had a pretty exact nickel 92 copy that a friend had. Wasn't much difference.Doesn't do anything much cheaper and better guns do. Also much cooler guns can be had for $3K.
I'm pretty sure there isn't anyone that wants to be shot by anything that can penetrate skin. Having said that if you do need to shoot someone the terminal ballistics of a .22 rimfire suffers badly in comparison to more "standard" defense rounds.Statistically speaking, the .22LR is the deadliest cartridge in the country. A good .22 auto should not be overlooked for the bedside table/inside the house defense.

Another thing to consider is that CF ammunition is simply more reliable than RF.
Anyone have some go-to websites for good prices on bulk ammo? I picked up a Sig P229 SSE in .357 SIG recently and only have 50 rounds on hand. Went looking for a decent bulk price on good FMJ rounds and ultimately ended up at nrammo.com after going to ammoseek.com. Found a couple positive reviews for them on reddit. I was only looking for 500 rounds but they had Speer Lawman 1000 rounds TMJ for 43 cents per round...which was definitely the best price I could find for reliable ammo...so I bought it. It's supposed to ship out Friday, so I should be able to report back on nrammo.com next week.
Also, I picked up a Para Ordnance 1911 LTC 9mm as part of a trade. Not sure if I'm going to keep it, but was wondering if any of you have experience with Para Ordnance.
