I've been trying to put my hands on the baretta and haven't had any luck. Thanks for the heads up on the Springfield. For some reason I was thinking they were double action only.If your a single/double kind of guy the Springfield xd-e 3.3” is a good carry option for those wanting to carry 45 acp.
It’s certainly smaller than the M&P……but it’s 45, it’s single double, and it’s easy to carry……with years in the market.
If your not keen on a “smaller” carry option, the Beretta PX4 Storm full is a good option if you can find one.
About the size of a 4.5” M&P, it’s double/single, and comes in 45. Ugly as heck, but good shooters. They seem to be hard to find in 45.

I'm contemplating a purchase. I've got a large frame 45ACP that's not really practical to conceal carry, especially without a jacket. I'd like to stay in the .45. I have other guns I could carry in .40SW and .380 but I'd like something else. I've looked at the beretta px45 but I can't find one to put my hands on. It may be too large for IWB carry. I went to a local shop today and they had a used S&W MP45 in very good condition. They were asking $499 but said they'd take $479. $479 is where they go for new. This one did have a few extra mags and a laser made specifically for the shield and it integrated perfectly in front of the trigger guard. That being said I don't really care about the laser.
Thoughts?
An LEO buddy and I stopped by the gun show in Gainesville, GA this weekend. He was shopping for a new carry pistol, and I was morbidly curious about the state of prices (particularly on ammo). Aside from a nice old stainless S&W .357 and a handful of C&R type rifles (an M1 carbine and a few Enfields) that caught my eye, I was pretty underwhelmed. Ammo prices were high (as expected), but I figured that would be the case going in. Had a good conversation with a retired Atlanta PD detective who was working one of the sellers' tables. It was a good way to kill a few hours on a Saturday morning.
That's just a small ARI've shot the MP5, although not in service as you apparently have, and you're right, it is fun. Half the price buys a lot of ammo and the Banshee is a pretty cool gun, but it is not an MP5.

I had some crazy luck today. Went out looking for a G43x today and saw a few at some places for $529 + tax/background check fees and up from there. Went to a pawn shop and they didn’t have one. Guy behind the counter said that he bought one new a week ago and hadnt even shot it yet and said something came up and he’d like to sell it just to get his money back.
A couple hours later, he texted me it was there so I bought it from him for much cheaper than the stores prices and without tax and fees. I got crazy lucky. The thing hasn’t even been shot yet. I put some of the extra money intoa good IWB holster for it.
